Seal Of California
The Great Seal of the State of California was adopted at the California U.S. state, state Constitutional Convention (California), Constitutional Convention of 1849 and has undergone minor design changes since then, the last being the standardization of the seal in 1937. The seal shows Athena in Greek mythology (alternately Minerva in Roman mythology), the goddess of wisdom and war, because she was born an adult, and California was never a territory; a California grizzly bear, the official state animal, feeding on grape vines, representing California's wine production; a sheaf of grain, representing agriculture; a miner, representing the California Gold Rush and the mining industry; and sailing ships, representing the state's economic power. Jim Brulte
James L. Brulte (born April 13, 1956) is an American politician, former state legislator, and former chairman of the California Republican Party, having served from March 3, 2013 to February 24, 2019. Serving three consecutive terms as chairman, Brulte set the record for the longest tenure as chairman in the history of the state party. He was also the first, and currently remains the only, freshman to ever serve as a party leader in both houses of the California State Legislature. Bill Campbell (California Politician)
William James Campbell (born April 8, 1942) is a Republican politician from California. He was a California State Assemblyman from 1996–2002, Assembly Republican Leader from 2000–2001, and a member of the Orange County Board of Supervisors from 2003–2013. Early life and education Born in Los Angeles, Campbell grew up in Pico Rivera. Campbell earned a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from Loyola Marymount University and a Master of Business Administration from the Harvard Business School. Career and politics After initially working as an engineer, Campbell and his wife founded BIMA Corporation, a company that specialized in Taco Bell franchises. In 1996, Campbell was elected to the represent eastern Orange County's 71st District in the State Assembly with 71% of the vote. Scott Baugh
Scott Randall Baugh (born July 4, 1962) is an American attorney and politician. He is a member of the Republican Party. He served in the California State Assembly and served as the chair of the Republican Party in Orange County, California, from the early 2000s to 2015. Baugh attended Liberty University and McGeorge School of Law. After graduating, Baugh served as an attorney in private practice in Huntington Beach. Baugh entered politics after a recall was initiated in 1995 for the 67th district of the state assembly; he served as minority leader of the California Assembly. After leaving office, he became the chairman of the local Republican Party. Robert Myles Hertzberg (born November 19, 1954) is an American politician who previously served in the California State Senate. A Democratic Party (United States), Democrat, he represented the California's 18th State Senate district, 18th Senate District, which includes parts of the San Fernando Valley. Antonio Villaraigosa
Antonio Ramón Villaraigosa (; né Villar Jr. on January 23, 1953) is an American politician who served as the 41st Mayor of Los Angeles from 2005 to 2013.
