Aniello Califano
Aniello Califano (19 January 1870 in Sorrento – 20 February 1919 in Sant'Egidio del Monte Albino) was an Italian poet and writer. He was the author of numerous Neapolitan songs, the music to which was composed by various Neapolitan composers. A number of his songs, especially "'O surdato 'nnammurato", remain popular today. Califano was born in Sorrento, the son of Alfonso Califano, an important landowner from Sant'Egidio del Monte Albino; his mother, Rosa Ruspoli, was a member of the local nobility. He was an only child. He attended San Lorenzo until the age of 18, returning in September 1916. He died in 1919. Christian Califano (born 16 May 1972) is a former France, French rugby union player who finished his career at Gloucester Rugby. At the end of 2003, he had been capped 68 times for the France national rugby union team, France national team, which was the record for a French Prop (rugby union), prop until Sylvain Marconnet earned his 69th one on 4 February 2007. It seemed clear that Califano's international career was over, but he made a shock come-back as he was called to play against New Zealand national rugby union team, New Zealand on 2 and 9 June 2007. John Edmund Califano
John Edmund Califano (December 5, 1862 in Rome – June 15, 1946 in Van Nuys), was a student of Domenico Morelli. Califano became a landscape artist, especially noted for his scenes of California and Italy. In 1881, he came to the United States and lived in Chicago until 1908. By 1915, he was in San Francisco and spent the last years of his life in Van Nuys. Califano exhibited in Naples, Italy in 1880, receiving a gold medal, as well as showing at the Art Institute of Chicago, in 1907; and the National Academy of Design, New York City, 1897–99.
