The Cal Poly Pomona Broncos or Cal Poly Broncos are the athletic sports teams for the California State Polytechnic University, Pomona (Cal Poly Pomona). Cal Poly Pomona has 11 varsity sports teams and offers student participation in a wide range of sports including baseball, basketball, Cross country running, cross country, association football, soccer, volleyball, track and field, and volleyball. Cal Poly Pomona Broncos Men's Basketball
The Cal Poly Pomona Broncos Men's Basketball team is the college basketball program representing California State Polytechnic University, Pomona (Cal Poly Pomona). The Broncos play in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) in NCAA Division II. Cal Poly Pomona won its first NCAA championship in 2010 and has appeared in 17 NCAA Tournaments. Basketball was one of 12 women's sports added to the NCAA championship program for the 1981–82 school year, as the NCAA and Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (AIAW) sought for sole governance of women's collegiate athletics. The AIAW continued to conduct its established championships; however, after a year of dual women's championships at the national level, the AIAW disbanded.
