''Caesia parviflora'', the pale grass lily, is a species of flowering plant in the family Asphodelaceae, subfamily Hemerocallidoideae, native to Australia, being found in New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia and Western Australia. This is a small plant up to 50 centimeters tall, found in heath, woodland and dry sclerophyll forest, usually near grasses. It often grows on sandstone-based soils. The lily-like flower is about 1.2 centimeters wide and has three grey or purple stripes on each petal. Flowering occurs in spring and summer. The original specimen was collected in Sydney, dated 16 October 1803. In 1810, the species appeared in '' Prodromus Florae Novae Hollandiae'', authored by the prolific Scottish botanist, Robert Brown. The generic name honours Federico Cesi, a 17th-century Italian naturalist. The specific epithet ''parviflora'' translates to "small flowered". Zanthus, Western Australia
Zanthus is a remote and uninhabited outpost on the Trans-Australian Railway approximately east of the regional city of Kalgoorlie in the Goldfields–Esperance region of Western Australia. Transport A Transport hub, depot existed at Zanthus prior to 1915 when the east to west section of the Trans Australian Railway was still not completed. Trains were arriving daily at the station in 1915 mostly carrying materials to the railhead from Kalgoorlie. Passengers were stranded at Zanthus in 1948 when a train was delayed resulting from floodwaters causing washaways along the tracks between Zanthus and Kalgoorlie. Several passengers completed the journey to Kalgoorlie via a Goldfield Airways airplane while over 50 men worked to fix the two big washaways. A derailment of a train occurred in 1953 when five coaches of the transcontinental eastbound express left the tracks near the town tearing up a section of the line. ''Caesia micrantha'' (common name – pale grass-lily) is a species of flowering plant in the family Hemerocallidaceae native to Western Australia. Description ''Caesia micrantha'' has fibrous roots. The leaves are 15 to 65 cm long, with the leaf blade being 3 to 10 mm wide, and the sheath sometimes persisting as fibres. The inflorescence is 25–60 cm with few to many branches and lower bracts which are up to 35 cm long. The flower clusters contain from 1 to 4 flowers and are often paired. The capsule generally has three lobes which are 2.5 to 5 mm wide, and the seeds are from 1.3 to 1.7 mm wide. Distribution and habitat It grows on many different soil types and is widespread in the south-west of Western Australia both on the ranges and the coastal plain from Albany to Geraldton.
