Cachito (Nat King Cole Song)
"Cachito" is song composed by Mexican songwriter Consuelo Velázquez in 1957. It was popularized in a 1958 recording by Nat King Cole. Cole included the track as first track on the Capitol Records LP '' Cole Español''. Capitol also released "Cachito" as a single in Spain and Latin America. In Colombia, it was popularized by Matilde Díaz. Composition Consuelo Velázquez wrote the music and lyrics of the song in 1957. It was dedicated to her second son, Mariano Rivera Velázquez, whom she had with Mariano Rivera Conde, director of RCA Victor Mexico. Previously, she had dedicated the song "Chiqui" to her first son Sergio. Nathaniel Adams Coles (March 17, 1919 – February 15, 1965), known professionally as Nat King Cole, alternatively billed as Nat "King" Cole, was an American singer, jazz pianist, and actor. Cole's career as a jazz and Traditional pop, pop vocalist started in the late 1930s and spanned almost three decades where he found success and recorded over 100 songs that became hits on the pop charts. Cole started his career as a jazz pianist in the late 1930s, when he formed the King Cole Trio, which became the top-selling group (and the only black act) on Capitol Records in the 1940s. ''Cole Español'' is a 1958 studio album by Nat King Cole to the Latin market, arranged by Nelson Riddle. One of three Spanish themed albums that Cole recorded, it was followed by '' A Mis Amigos'' (1959) and by '' More Cole Español'' in 1962. The orchestral music was recorded in Havana, Cuba, and Cole added his vocals in June in Los Angeles, California. However the song "Tú, mi delirio" is instrumental; Cole overdubbed piano, rather than vocals to this track. The album was later reissued as ''Español and More, Vol. 1''. Panart
Panart was one of the first and most successful independent record labels in Cuba, founded in 1944 by engineer Ramón Sabat. In 1961, its studios were seized by Fidel Castro's communist regime and the label was nationalized, becoming "Panart Nacionalizada", which shortly after was absorbed by EGREM. Together with RCA Victor's, Panart studios were the main recording studios in Cuba during the 1950s. Since the 1960s, they are known as the Areito studios, owned by EGREM. Capitol Studios is a recording studio located at the landmark Capitol Records Building in Hollywood, California, United States. Consuelo Velázquez Torres (August 21, 1916, in Ciudad Guzmán, Jalisco – January 22, 2005, Mexico City), also popularly known as Consuelito Velázquez, was a Mexican concert pianist and composer. She was the composer of famous Mexican ballads such as " Bésame mucho", "Amar y vivir", and " Cachito". Aura Matilde Díaz Martínez (1924–2002), better known by her artist name Matilde Díaz, was a Colombian performer of porros and boleros. She was the wife of Lucho Bermúdez, who was also known for his porros and boleros. She became the first woman to be a lead singer for a Colombian orchestra.
