The Government of the Czech Republic, led by Prime Minister Jan Fischer, was a caretaker government established after Mirek Topolánek and his government lost confidence vote in the Chamber of Deputies. History Fischer, an independent statistician, was chosen as non-party candidate for the office of Prime Minister. Martin Kuba
Martin Kuba (born 9 April 1973) is a Czech politician who served as Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic from November 2011 to July 2013. He was appointed to Petr Nečas's Cabinet on 16 November 2011. Since November 2020 he has been the Governor of the South Bohemian Region. Education and profession Kuba graduated from the Secondary Industrial School of Civil Engineering in České Budějovice in 1991, before deciding to become a doctor. He studied at Bílá Vločka Secondary Medical School, majoring in paramedics. He continued his studies at the First Medical Faculty of Charles University, graduated in 2002. Vlastimil Picek (25 October 1956) is a Czech politician. He served as the Ministry of Defence (Czech Republic), Minister of Defence of the Czech Republic from March 2012 to January 2013. From 2007 to 2012, he was the Military of the Czech Republic, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Czech Republic. He was the fourth person and the first member of Czech Air Force to serve at this position. Alexandr Vondra (; born 17 August 1961) is a Czech politician and diplomat who served as Minister of Defence of the Czech Republic from 2010 to 2012 under Prime Minister Petr Nečas and has been Member of the European Parliament (MEP) since 2019. Vondra also served as Deputy Prime Minister for European Affairs between 2007 and 2009, as well as Minister of Foreign Affairs from 2006 to 2007, both in cabinets of Prime Minister Mirek Topolánek.
