The Cabinet of Kiribati is the Cabinet (government), cabinet (Executive (government), executive branch) of the Politics of Kiribati, government of the Kiribati, Republic of Kiribati. The initial text of the Constitution of Kiribati (art.40) specifies that the Cabinet "shall consist of the Beretitenti, the Kauoman-ni-Beretitenti and not more than 10 other Ministers, and the Attorney-General". Members of the Cabinet are appointed by the President of Kiribati, President, from among House of Assembly of Kiribati, Members of Parliament (art.41). Since October 2016, a change of the Constitution text allows more than 10 ministries and retires the Attorney General from the Cabinet. The vice-president of Kiribati () is the vice president, deputy head of State of the Kiribati, Republic of Kiribati. His or her constitutional functions are to exercise the duties of the President of Kiribati, temporarily or permanently, should the latter be unable to do so, and to "be responsible for such business of the government (including the administration of any department) as the Beretitenti [President] may assign to him". Alexander Teabo
Alexander Teabo is an I-Kiribati politician currently serving as the Minister of Education of Kiribati since 2020. Alongside that, he's serving as a Member of the Parliament of Kiribati from the Butaritari constituency since 2007 and has formerly served as the Minister of Environment, Land and Agricultural Development from 2016 to 2020. Career Alexander Teabo was first elected to the Parliament of Kiribati in 2007, as a Member of the Ninth Parliament representing the Butaritari constituency. In 2012, he was reelected and his term ended in 2015. In 2016, Teabo was reelected, as a Member of the 11th Parliament this time. That year, he became the Minister of Environment, Land and Agricultural Development. In 2020, Teabo was reelected as MP and appointed as the Minister of Education of Kiribati. Willie Tokataake
Willie Tokataake is an I-Kiribati politician and current Speaker of the House of Assembly. Early life He was born on 25 May 1956 in Abemama, Willie Tokataake is related to the island's royal family, which is now purely ceremonial. He attended the Marine Training Centre on Tarawa before joining the crew of a German freighter, an experience he profoundly disliked. After two years, Tokataake returned to Abemama and married.
