Trade Union (Wales) Act 2017
The Trade Union (Wales) Act 2017 is an Act of the National Assembly for Wales (now the Senedd) governing trade union activity in the public sector in Wales. Chiefly it prevents the use of agency workers during strike action in services that belong to the public sector, as well as overturning a 40% support threshold for strike ballots, restrictions affecting time off for union activities and the taking of union subscriptions directly from pay packets. In the United Kingdom, intergovernmental relations are the coordination and engagement between the central UK Government and the devolved Scottish Government, Welsh Government and Northern Ireland Executive. The Prime Minister and Heads of Devolved Governments Council is where the heads of these administrations meet. The Senedd Cymru (Members and Elections) Act 2024 (sometimes referred to as the Senedd Reform Act) is an act of Senedd Cymru expanding and reforming the Senedd in Wales. Provisions of the act include creating sixteen larger constituencies, each electing six members of the Senedd (MSs) by proportional representation.
