CJRJ (identified on air and in print as ''Spice Radio'') is a Canadian radio station based in Vancouver, British Columbia. It broadcasts at 1200 AM broadcasting, AM with a power of 25,000 watts from a transmitter in Richmond, and its studio is located in Burnaby. The station is owned by I.T. Productions Ltd., which is owned by Shushma Datt. Initial approval for a new ethnic radio station was granted on 21 July 2005 by the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission to serve the South Asian community in the Vancouver area. The station was licensed to broadcast with a power of 25,000 watts. Terms of the license included a stipulation that all programming in each broadcast week must be ethnic in nature. The station is required to provide programming in at least 17 different languages, targeted at no less than 11 different ethnic groups, with 95% of this programming to be in "third languages". 73% of this programming must be in the Punjabi and Hindustani languages. CJJR-FM (93.7 MHz) is a commercial radio station in Vancouver, British Columbia. It is owned by the Jim Pattison Group with studios on West 8th Avenue in the Fairview neighbourhood of Vancouver. It broadcasts a country radio format branded as ''93.7 JR Country''. CJJR-FM is a Class C station. It has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 33,000 watts (61,000 watts maximum). Its transmitter tower is on Mount Seymour in the District of North Vancouver. The Canadian Communications Foundation (CCF) was a Canadian nonprofit organization which documented the history of broadcasting in Canada, particularly radio and television networks, programs and broadcasters. The organization was established in 1967 and announced that it would begin wrapping up its work in 2023. Since 1995, the organization distributed its collection via its website. The CCF was established in 1967 by the Canadian Association of Broadcasters. Its mission: to "commemorate throughout Canada the development of electronic communications". By 2020, the foundation started to wind down as its original mission was largely accomplished.
