CIF North Coast Section
The North Coast Section (NCS) is a part of the California Interscholastic Federation, governing the eastern portion of the San Francisco Bay Area, up along the northern coast of the state of California, from Fremont in the south to Crescent City in the north. It also governs the private schools in the city of Oakland. Due to this split in regions, the section is split in two for some championships, including football. Governance The section is governed by a board of managers, whose voting members include representatives from member leagues, superintendents, school board associations and private schools. There are 155 full member schools, assigned to leagues or conferences according to NCS Alignment and Classification Bylaws developed by the schools. In addition, currently 20 schools have affiliated with the league to play as independents without the benefit of a league to guarantee opponents. Cristo Rey De La Salle East Bay High School is a work of the San Francisco New Orleans District of the De La Salle Brothers. Opened in 2018, it is a member of the national Cristo Rey Network of work-study schools for underserved Hispanic Asian American and African American students. The new school occupies the former premises of St. Elizabeth High School in the Fruitvale District of Oakland, California, where the majority of the households are currently Hispanic. The purpose of the school is to provide an affordable, college prep education to needy students in the depressed area of inner-city Oakland, the underserved families of the East Bay. San Marin High School
San Marin High School is a public high school located in Novato, California, in the United States. History San Marin High School opened in 1968 in Novato. Robert Vieth became principal in 2007, after the former principal was dismissed by the District's board, resulting in extended protests by parents, staff, and students. History The first California School for the Deaf was established in 1860 and is part of the California Department of Education's State Special Schools. Bebe Patten (September 13, 1913 – January 25, 2004) was the founder of Patten University (formerly Oakland Bible Institute), Patten Academy, Christian Cathedral and the Christian Evangelical Churches of America, Inc. denomination. Bebe Patten had three children: identical twins Rebecca and Priscilla in 1950 and Thomas Patten Jr. in 1954.
