Brønderslev Municipality
Brønderslev Municipality () is a municipality ( Danish, '' kommune'') in North Jutland Region in Denmark. It covers an area of 630 km2 and has a total population of 36,706 (2025). The municipal council is located in the town of Brønderslev. The municipality was created as the result of ''2007 Kommunalreformen'', and consists of the former municipalities of Brønderslev and Dronninglund. The resulting municipality was originally named Brønderslev-Dronninglund Municipality (Danish: ''Brønderslev-Dronninglund Kommune''), the longest name of a municipality in Denmark with 32 characters. At their first meeting, the municipal council agreed to shorten the name to its current form: Brønderslev Municipality. Municipalities Of Denmark
Denmark is divided into five regions of Denmark, regions, which contain 98 municipalities (, ; , ). The Capital Region of Denmark, Capital Region has 29 municipalities, Region of Southern Denmark, Southern Denmark 22, Central Denmark Region, Central Denmark 19, Region Zealand, Zealand 17 and North Denmark Region, North Denmark 11. The government intends to merge R. Hovedstaden with R. Sjælland 1 January 2027 to form Region Østdanmark (Region of Eastern Denmark). The regional council will have 47 members, and will be elected Tuesday 18 November 2025 in the ordinary 2025 Danish local elections.
