Bridgewater Associates, LP (informally known as "Bridgewater") is an American investment management firm founded by Ray Dalio in 1975. The firm serves institutional clients including pension funds, Financial endowment, endowments, Foundation (nonprofit), foundations, foreign governments, and central banks. As of 2023, Bridgewater was the fourth-most profitable hedge fund in history in Rate of return, absolute dollar returns. The firm began as an institutional investment advisory service, graduated to institutional investing, and pioneered the risk parity investment approach in 1996. Bridgewater (formerly known as The Outlet Park) is a major retail development in County Down, Northern Ireland, near Banbridge. It consists of a shopping outlet, retail park, drive-thru's and petrol stations. History The Boulevard The Boulevard opened in 2007 as The Outlet. the shopping outlet is a home to discount outlets for big-name fashion retailers. The site was derelict and struggled with footfall, with only a third of its units filled. In 2016, The Outlet was acquired by Tristan Capital Partners and Lotus Property from its previous owner Ulster Bank, who acquired it from original owners GML Estates and Landsec. Tristan and Lotus invested in the struggling site to become one of the biggest leisure and shopping destinations in Northern Ireland. Bridgewater is a hamlet (and census-designated place) in Oneida County, New York, United States. The population was 470 at the 2010 census. The hamlet is within the Town of Bridgewater at the junction of U.S. Route 20 and N.Y. Route 8. It was an incorporated village from 1825 to 2014. History The village was incorporated in 1825. The Unadilla Valley Railway had its northern terminus at Bridgewater where it connected to a branch line of the Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad. The Brick Store Building and Bridgewater Railroad Station are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. On March 18, 2014, voters approved a referendum by a vote of 40 to 8 to dissolve the village on December 31, 2014.
