Brainfeeder is an independent record label based in Los Angeles, California, founded by Flying Lotus in 2008, focusing on electronic music and instrumental hip hop. Steven Ellison (born October 7, 1983), better known as Flying Lotus or sometimes FlyLo, is an American record producer, DJ, filmmaker, and rapper. Stephen Lee Bruner (born October 19, 1984), better known by his stage name Thundercat, is an American musician, singer, record producer, songwriter, and bassist from Los Angeles. First coming to prominence as a member of crossover thrash band Suicidal Tendencies, he switched his music with funk, soul music, soul, progressive soul, progressive R&B, psychedelic music, psychedelia and jazz-fusion. dublab is a non-profit music public broadcasting internet radio station based in Los Angeles. They have also been involved with art exhibitions, film projects, event production, and record releases. These shows are archived and downloadable on the dublab website. dublab also broadcasts on KLDB-LP on 99.1 FM in Los Angeles. ''dublab'' was founded in 1999 by Jonathan Buck, Mark McNeill and fellow students from KSCR Radio at the University of Southern California. Their name is a portmanteau of dubbing and laboratory for the combined meaning: a place of experimenting with sampling music. Hiatus Kaiyote ( ) is an Australian jazz/funk band formed in Melbourne in 2011, made up of singer/guitarist Nai Palm, bassist Paul Bender, keyboardist Simon Mavin, and drummer Perrin Moss. Genevieve Veronica Artadi (born July 1, 1982) is an American musician, singer-songwriter, and video producer who is the lead vocalist and occasional instrumentalist of the independent electronic jazz-funk duo Knower. Alfred Darlington (born Alfred Weisberg-Roberts; October 31, 1977), better known by their stage name Daedelus, is an American record producer based in Los Angeles, California. They are a member of the groups The Long Lost and Adventure Time. Daedelus is also affiliated with the internet radio station Dublab. Early life Daedelus attended the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music studying Jazz on Double Bass. Career A teenage obsession with Greek mythology led them to adopt the stage name Daedelus—a tribute to the artist, inventor, and craftsman (spelled Daedalus). Stuart Howard, better known by his stage name Lapalux (short for "Lap of Luxury") or LPLX, is an English record producer from Essex.
