William Percy Gilpin (26 July 1902 – 4 January 1988) was a long serving Bishop of Kingston, Kingston-upon-Thames, England. Gilpin was educated at King Edward's School, Birmingham and Keble College, Oxford. Richard Cheetham
Richard Ian Cheetham (born 18 August 1955) is a retired Church of England bishop and former teacher. He served as the area Bishop of Kingston in the Diocese of Southwark, 2002–2022. Early life He was educated at Kingston Grammar School. He studied physics and philosophy at Corpus Christi College, Oxford, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree. He remained at the University of Oxford to study for a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE). Having qualified, he taught science at a comprehensive school in Richmond, North Yorkshire, from 1978 to 1980. He then moved to Eton College, Windsor, where he was Assistant Physics Master from 1980 to 1983. After five years teaching, he left the profession to become an investment analyst. The Bishop of Bath and Wells heads the Church of England Diocese of Bath and Wells in the Province of Canterbury in England. The present diocese covers the overwhelmingly greater part of the (ceremonial) county of Somerset and a small area of Dorset. Peter Price (bishop)
Peter Bryan Price (born 17 May 1944) is a retired English Anglican bishop. He was the Bishop of Bath and Wells in the Church of England from 2001 to 30 June 2013. He sat in the House of Lords as one of the Lords Spiritual from 2008 until his retirement. He became chair of the board of trustees for the NGO Conciliation Resources in August 2013 but as of August 2024 is not listed as a trustee of that organisation. In 2015, he and his wife Dee co-founded the Burns Price Foundation, and as of August 2024 they both serve as trustees. Price attended Oak Hill Theological College. He was ordained a deacon in 1974 and a priest in 1975. The Bishop of Newcastle is the ordinary of the Church of England's Diocese of Newcastle in the Province of York. The diocese presently covers the County of Northumberland and the Alston Moor area of Cumbria. John Martin Wharton, (born 6 August 1944) is a British Anglican bishop, a retired Bishop of Newcastle. Early life and education Wharton was born in Ulverston, Lancashire, the son of John Wharton and Marjorie Skinner. He was educated at Ulverston Grammar School and Van Mildert College, Durham where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in economics, politics and sociology in 1969. Peter Stephen Maurice Selby (born 7 December 1941) is a retired British Anglican bishop. He was the Church of England Bishop of Worcester from 1997 until he retired at the end of September 2007. Keith Sutton (bishop)
Keith Norman Sutton (23 June 1934 – 24 March 2017) was the 97th Bishop of Lichfield from 1984 to 2003. Early life and education Sutton grew up in Balham, London. He attended Battersea Grammar School and won a scholarship to Cambridge to read English but changed to theology. He graduated from Jesus College, Cambridge, in 1959. He was a keen runner (national schoolboy sprint champion) and was a Cambridge Blue at tennis. Before attending Cambridge University he did his national service with the British Army where he was commissioned into the Sixth Armoured Division and spent time primarily in Germany. Ministry Sutton was ordained at Exeter Cathedral and served as a curate in Plymouth.
