Bharatiya Janata Party
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP; , ) is a political party in India and one of the two major List of political parties in India, Indian political parties alongside the Indian National Congress. BJP emerged out from Syama Prasad Mukherjee's Bharatiya Jana Sangh. Since 2014, it has been the List of ruling political parties by country, ruling political party in India under the incumbent Prime Minister of India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The BJP is aligned with right-wing politics and has close ideological and organisational links to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), a Far-right politics, far-right Paramilitary organization, paramilitary organisation. Shiv Prakash
Shiv Prakash (born 1 August 1967) is an Indian politician and the current Joint National General Secretary (Organization) of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He was assigned to the party from the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh in 2014. Early life and education Shiv Prakash was born on 1 August 1967, in Birubala, a small village in Uttar Pradesh. He completed his studies at Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University. Career Shiv Prakash started his political career in 1986 as a district-level coordinator of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. In 2008, the RSS gave him the responsibility of Western Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Sikandar Bakht
Sikander Bakht (24 August 1918 – 23 February 2004) was an Indian politician belonging to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) who served as the 15th governor of Kerala from 2002 until his death. He was elected as the Vice President of the BJP, served as its leader in the Rajya Sabha, and as a cabinet minister in the NDA government headed by Atal Bihari Vajpayee. In 2000, he was awarded Padma Vibhushan, the second highest civilian honour of the Government of India. Early life Sikander Bakht was born in Quresh Nagar in Delhi, India in 1918. Kutami
The Kutami (; ) is a political alliance in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, officially established in 2024 as part of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). The coalition comprises the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Janasena Party (JSP), and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Although the coalition was formally named "Kūṭami" in 2024, the three parties had previously collaborated during the 2014 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly election, where the TDP and BJP contested together while the JSP did not participate but extended support. India has a multi-party system. The Election Commission of India (ECI) grants recognition to national-level and state-level political parties based on objective criteria. A recognised political party enjoys privileges such as a reserved party symbol, free broadcast time on state-run television and radio, consultation in the setting of election dates, and giving input in setting electoral rules and regulations. Other political parties wishing to contest local, state, or national elections must be registered with the ECI. Jagannathrao Joshi (23 June 1920 – 15 July 1991) was an Indian politician and a senior leader of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh (BJS) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He was born at Nargund, Karnataka on 23 June 1920. He completed his matriculation from Nutan Marathi Vidyalaya in Pune and graduation in English Hons from Sir Parshurambhau College. Ram Jethmalani
Ram Boolchand Jethmalani (14 September 1923 – 8 September 2019) was an Indian lawyer and politician. He served as India's Union Minister of Law and Justice, as chairman of the Indian Bar Council, and as the president of the Supreme Court Bar Association. Jethmalani obtained his LL.B. degree at the age of 17 and started practising law in his hometown, Shikarpur, until the partition of India. The partition led him to move to Mumbai as a refugee where he began his life and career afresh. He announced his retirement from judicial profession in 2017. Shanta Kumar Sharma (born 12 September 1934) is an Indian politician who was the 3rd Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh and a Union Minister in the Government of India. He is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He was elected to the 9th Lok Sabha from Kangra constituency in 1989.
