Berlin ( ; ) is the Capital of Germany, capital and largest city of Germany, by both area and List of cities in Germany by population, population. Berlin-Charlottenburg is a railway station in the Charlottenburg district of Berlin, Germany. Berliner Weisse
Berliner Weisse (, ; "Berlin White") is a cloudy, sour ale of around 3.5% alcohol by volume. It is a regional variation of the wheat beer style from Northern Germany, dating back to at least the 16th century. It can be made from combinations of malted barley and wheat, with the stipulation that the malts are kilned at very low temperatures or even air-dried to minimise colour formation. A Berliner or Krapfen is a German jam doughnut with no central hole, made from sweet Yeast, yeast dough fried in lard or cooking oil, with a jam filling, and usually covered in powdered sugar. History Sugar was very costly until the 16th century, and early doughnuts were usually stuffed with savory fillings like cheese, meat and mushroom. When imports from Caribbean sugar plantations made sugar more affordable, fruit preserves gained in popularity. In 1485, the first German-language cookbook to be published in printed form ''Kuechenmeisterei'' was published in Nuremberg and remained in print at least until 1674 with 20 editions (it was later translated into Polish in 1532). Berliner Motor Corporation was the US Distribution (business), distributor from the 1950s through the 1980s for several European motorcycle marques, including Ducati, J-Be, Matchless, Moto Guzzi, Norton Motorcycle Company, Norton, Sachs Motorcycles, Sachs and Zündapp, as well as selling Metzeler tires. The team is part of a sports club which also has departments for badminton, hockey, and rugby. The Berliner Rugby Club is a German rugby union club from Berlin, currently playing in the Rugby-Bundesliga. History The club was formed in 1926. While very successful in its youth department, it has not managed similar achievements on the senior level. The club has yet to win a national championship, having appeared in the 1989 German rugby union championship final, where it lost 6-20 to TSV Victoria Linden. Two lost Cup finals also stand to its name. In the 2007-08 Rugby-Bundesliga season, the club finished in fourth place, its best result in the league since adoption of the single-division format in 2001.
