Bera District
The Bera District is a district in southwestern Pahang, Malaysia, bordering Negeri Sembilan and Johor. Background Bera district was founded on January 1, 1992, detaching it from Temerloh District. Once considered as problematic area (illegal land exploration), Bera emerged as an important district especially in the agriculture sector. Etymology The district got its name from Malaysia's largest freshwater lake, Bera Lake, Tasik Bera. According to the Orang Asli of the Semelai tribe, Bera derived its name from a type of seaweed known as ''Reba''. When the northern part of the district was ruled by one of the nine founding chiefdoms of Negeri Sembilan, it was known as "Ulu Pahang" (the back part of Pahang). The Maran District is a district in Pahang, Malaysia. Bera district is founded at 1981. Located in the centre of Pahang, the district is surrounded by Kuantan District, Pekan District, Rompin District, Bera District, Temerloh District and Jerantut District clockwisely. History Previously Maran was a town council under the administration of the district of Pekan District. In January 1981, Maran town (Mukim Luit), together with some townships in Temerloh districts (Mukim Bukit Segumpal, Chenor, Kertau) were combined to form the new Maran district. KTM Intercity
KTM Intercity () are diesel-hauled intercity train services in Peninsular Malaysia, operated by Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB). Services operate along the East Coast Line between Tumpat and Gemas and on towards JB Sentral on the West Coast Line. The former Intercity services along the West Coast Line between Padang Besar in the north (and subsequent services to Thailand) and Gemas have been converted to the KTM ETS service. Teriang
Teriang, alt. Triang ( Jawi: ترياڠ) is a town and a mukim (township) in Bera District, southwestern Pahang, Malaysia. It is the largest settlement in the district. Etymology Its name was derived from Sungai Teriang (Triang River), a tributary of the Pahang River, the longest river in Peninsula Malaysia. Politics Triang was part of Temerloh District until 1992, when the southern half was carved out as the new Bera District, named after the nearby Bera Lake. Triang continued to be part of Temerloh constituency of the Malaysian parliament until 2004. Triang is one of three constituencies of the Pahang State Legislative Assembly within the borders of the parliamentary constituency of Bera, the other two being Guai and Kemayan. Segamat District
The Segamat District () or simply Segamat is a district in the Malaysian state of Johor. Segamat is also the name of the district's primary town. Segamat district is one of the three landlocked districts in Johor, the other being Kluang and Kulai. Etymology It is believed that 'Segamat' is derived from the Malay phrase '', which literally translates as 'very refreshing'. According to the local folklore, the phrase was uttered by a Bendahara during the Sultanate of Malacca upon drinking the water from the Segamat River.
