Bentong District
Bentong District is a district located in western Pahang, Malaysia. Bentong covers an area of 1,831 km2 and includes the hill station, hill resorts of Genting Highlands and Bukit Tinggi, Pahang, Bukit Tinggi. It is located 80 km northeast of Kuala Lumpur, just across the main range, Titiwangsa Mountains. The eponymous town of Bentong is the seat of the district. The district of Bentong is also further divided into 3 ''mukims'' (sub-districts), they are Bentong, Sabai and Pelangai. It is bordered by Selangor's Hulu Langat District, Hulu Langat, Gombak District, Gombak and Hulu Selangor District, Hulu Selangor Districts on the west, the Negeri Sembilan, Negri district of Jelebu on the south, Bera District on the southeast, Temerloh District to its east, and Raub District to its north. Raub, Pahang
Raub is a town in Raub District, Pahang, Malaysia. Raub is one of the oldest towns in Pahang. History Raub was explored and founded in the 18th century. It is historically a gold mining settlement, and the gold mining industry is now undergoing something of a resurgence as the gold price has risen. According to the history, this mining centre was named Raub after a group of miners found a handful of gold in every tray of sand they dig. This is described by J.A. Richardson in his book, ''The Geology and Mineral Resources of the Neighbourhood of Raub Pahang''. According to him (page 36), "People found that for every "''dulang''" of sand there was a handful (''raub'') of gold". The old folks' tale recounts that in the early 19th century, an old man and his two sons discovered gold every time they scooped up the earth in Raub. Kuala Lipis (Pahang Malay: ''Kole Lepeh'') is a mukim and capital of Lipis District, Pahang, Malaysia with a population of 20,000. History Kuala Lipis was a gold-mining centre before the British Empire, British arrived in 1887. In 1898, it became the capital of Pahang within the British-protectorate, administered Federated Malay States. During this colonial era, grand buildings, such as the imposing district offices, the Clifford School, and the Pahang Club, were built. The hilltop house of the British resident is now a hotel and museum. The town grew and prospered with the coming of the railway in 1924. Raub District
Raub District is a district in Pahang, Malaysia. Located in the west of the state, the district borders Lipis District to the north, Jerantut District to the east, Temerloh District to the southeast, Bentong District to the south, and the districts of Hulu Selangor and Muallim, respectively situated in the states of Selangor and Perak, to the west. Bera District
The Bera District is a district in southwestern Pahang, Malaysia, bordering Negeri Sembilan and Johor. Background Bera district was founded on January 1, 1992, detaching it from Temerloh District. Once considered as problematic area (illegal land exploration), Bera emerged as an important district especially in the agriculture sector. Etymology The district got its name from Malaysia's largest freshwater lake, Bera Lake, Tasik Bera. Jelebu
The Jelebu District (Negeri Sembilan Malay: ''Jolobu'') is the second largest district in Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia after Jempol, with a population over 40,000.
