NPO Bazalt () is a weapons manufacturing company in Russia that took over (or continued) the production of weapons such as the RPG-7 after the collapse of the Soviet Union. NPO Bazalt manufactures the RPG-7V2 and the RPG-29. AO NPO Bazalt is included in the state corporation Rostec. History Bazalt was founded in 1916. Over its history, the company created 700 models of ammunition for military use. Bazalt is one of the leading designers and developers of many variants of aircraft bombs, anti-tank and anti-saboteur marine grenade launcher complexes, mortar shells of many variants, and calibers and other kinds of ammunition. RPG-16
The RPG-16 is a handheld anti-tank grenade launcher for anti-tank warfare. It was developed in 1968 and adopted by the Soviet Army in 1970 for special operation teams and the Soviet airborne troops ( VDV). These were deployed during the Soviet–Afghan War (1979–1989) and saw service during several battles in that conflict. Combat history The RPG-16 was widely used during Soviet campaign in Afghanistan, mostly against hardened fire positions and buildings from stand-off ranges. When it was first introduced it was considered superior to the RPG-7, but the RPG-7's ability to accommodate oversized rockets gave it growth potential the RPG-16's undercaliber projectile couldn't compete with. Grenade
A grenade is a small explosive weapon typically thrown by hand (also called hand grenade), but can also refer to a Shell (projectile), shell (explosive projectile) shot from the muzzle of a rifle (as a rifle grenade) or a grenade launcher. The PBK-500U Drel (Russian language, Russian: Дрель, "drill") is an inertial guidance, inertial and GLONASS-guided cluster bomb, cluster glide bomb developed by the Russian Federation, designed to destroy enemy armored vehicles and buildings. The RPG-7 and its predecessor, the RPG-2, were designed by the Soviet Union, and are now manufactured by the Russian company Bazalt. The weapon has the GRAU index (Russian armed forces index) 6G3. The RPG-32 Barkas (Russian: РПГ-32) is a reusable Russian shoulder-launched, unguided anti-tank rocket system. Development It was developed by Bazalt between 2005 and 2007, under contract and at the request of Jordan. The first RPG-32 'Nashshab' grenade launchers were to be delivered to Jordan from Russia in 2008, and it was planned that the RPG-32 and its ammunition would be mass-produced in Jordan under license at the JADARA factory. The RPG-30 "Kryuk" ("Hook"; ) is a Russian hand-held disposable anti-tank grenade launcher.
