Barangays Of Metro Manila
Metro Manila is divided into seventeen primary local government units (LGU) that consist of sixteen List of cities in the Philippines, cities and one Municipalities of the Philippines, municipality. Each city and municipality is governed by an elected mayor and is divided into several villages or barangays (formerly called barrios) headed by an elected barangay captain. Barangay populations range in size from under 1,000 to over 200,000. As of the 2015 census, the total population of Metro Manila was 12,877,253. Among all local government units in Metro Manila, only the cities of Manila, Caloocan and Pasay implement the Zone Systems. A zone is a group of barangays in a district. Although a zone is considered a subdivision in the local government units, the people do not elect a chairman for the zone in a popular election similar to the normal barangay or local elections. Mandaluyong
Mandaluyong ( ; ), officially the City of Mandaluyong (, ), is a Cities of the Philippines#Legal classification, highly-urbanized city in the Metro Manila, National Capital Region of the Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 425,758 people. Located directly east of Manila, Mandaluyong was originally a barrio of Santa Ana, Manila, Santa Ana de Sapa (now a district of Manila) called San Felipe Neri. Arkong Bato
Arkong Bato () is one of the constituent barangays in the city of Valenzuela, Metro Manila, Valenzuela, Metro Manila, Philippines. Arkong Bato is a historical barangay named after the famous stone arch landmark on Marcelo H. Del Pilar Street that demarcates its boundary with Barangays Panghulo and Santolan in Malabon. The notable stone arch was built during American rule in 1910, originally as a boundary marker between Rizal (province), Rizal and Bulacan provinces, which Malabon and Valenzuela were once part of, respectively. Pateros, officially the Municipality of Pateros (; ), is the lone municipality of the Philippines, municipality of Metropolitan Manila, Metro Manila, Philippines.
