Bandy World Cup
The Bandy World Cup is an international bandy competition played in Sweden at the beginning of the bandy season every year, in autumn. The participating teams qualify based on their results in the previous bandy season. The World Cup is not played by national teams but is for bandy clubs from around the world, and should therefore not be confused with the Bandy World Championship. It is usually considered to be "the world championship for clubs". The tournament has been dominated by Swedish and Russian teams. History The Bandy World Cup was held every year in Ljusdal in Sweden from 1974 to 2008, at the start of the bandy season in autumn. From 2009 it has been played indoors in Sandviken because Ljusdal was waiting for an indoor arena. The outdoor ices were too unpredictable because of the weather this time of the year, so for the 2009 cup the Federation of International Bandy demanded the cup should be played indoors. Magnus Olsson (bandy)
Magnus Olsson (born 25 January 1972) is a Swedish former bandy player who most played his entire professional career for Edsbyns IF as a midfielder. Career Club career Olsson is a youth product of Edsbyn and has represented their senior team his entire career from 1987 to 2016. While at Edsbyn, Olsson was a member of their squads that won the Swedish championship in the 2003–04, 2004–05, 2005–06, 2006–07 and 2007–08 seasons. Västerås SK Bandy
Västerås SK Bandy is the men's bandy side of the Swedish sports club Västerås SK, located in Västerås. The senior side currently plays in the Swedish Elitserien, the top division of Swedish bandy. Västerås SK BK Dam is the women's bandy side of the Swedish sports club, Västerås SK, which is located in Västerås. This article deals with the men's team. Sudden Death (sport)
In a sport or game, sudden death (also sudden-death, sudden-death overtime, or a sudden-death round) is a form of competition where play ends as soon as one competitor is ahead of the others, with that competitor becoming the winner. Sudden death is typically used as a tiebreaker when a contest is tied at the end of regulation (normal) playing time or the completion of the normal playing task. An alternative tiebreaker method to sudden death is to play an extra, shortened segment of the game. In association football 30 minutes of extra time (overtime) after 90 minutes of normal time, or in golf one playoff round (18 holes) after four standard rounds (72 holes) are two alternatives. Sudden death playoffs typically end more quickly than the shortened play alternative. Reducing the variability of the event's duration assists those scheduling television time and team travel. Yenisey Krasnoyarsk Bandy Club
Yenisey (russian: Енисе́й) is a bandy club from Krasnoyarsk, Russia. Yenisey has historically been a very successful club, having won the national championship sixteen times, last in 2021, and the Bandy World Cup in 1982, 1984, 2011 and 2015 and been runners-up in 1983, 1985 and 2000. After the 2011/12 season, Sergey Lomanov Jr was named the best player of the national championship. In 2017, former Mayor of Krasnoyarsk, Pyotr Pimashkov, became the new club president. During the period when Yenisey Stadium was being rebuilt to become an indoor arena, Lokomotiv Stadium was the temporary home arena. In December 2018 the new indoor arena was opened. IF Boltic
IF Boltic was a Swedish sports club from the town Karlstad. It existed from 1946 to 2000. In 2000, IF Boltic was merged with IF Göta and formed the new club BS BolticGöta. IF Boltic was for a number of years the most successful bandy team in Sweden and also one of the best in the world. IF Boltic is to date the only club which has managed to become Swedish champion for both men and women the same year. After the 2007/08 season the name IF Boltic is used again for the new club, but the formal name of the new club is still BS BolticGöta.
