Badminton
Badminton is a racquet sport played using racket (sports equipment), racquets to hit a shuttlecock across a net (device), net. Although it may be played with larger teams, the most common forms of the game are "singles" (with one player per side) and "doubles" (with two players per side). Badminton is often played as a casual outdoor activity in a Yard (land), yard or on a beach; professional games are played on a rectangular indoor court. Points are scored by striking the shuttlecock with the racquet and landing it within the other team's half of the court, within the set boundaries. Each side may only strike the shuttlecock once before it passes over the net. Kim Min-jung (badminton)
Kim Min-jung (born 29 July 1986) is a badminton player representing South Korea. Her name is sometimes spelled Kim Min-jeong. As a badminton player, Kim has focused on doubles with Ha Jung-eun; together they competed at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. In the past she has been paired with Hwang Ji-man and Yoo Yeon-seong in mixed doubles. Career At the 2012 Summer Olympics, Kim and her partner Ha Jung-eun, along with Jung Kyung-eun and Kim Ha-na of South Korea, Wang Xiaoli and Yu Yang of China, and Meiliana Jauhari and Greysia Polii of Indonesia were disqualified from the competition for "not using one's best efforts to win a match" and "conducting oneself in a manner that is clearly abusive or detrimental to the sport" following matches the previous evening during which they were accused of trying to lose in order to manipulate the draw. Yoo Yeon-seong
Yoo Yeon-seong (; born 19 August 1986) is a South Korean professional badminton player. He specializes in doubles events and was ranked as high as No. 2 worldwide with his former partner, Ko Sung-hyun. The two also competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics. For a long time he played mixed doubles with Kim Min-jung, but later switched partners to play with Chang Ye-na, starting in 2011. Starting in late 2013, his men's doubles partner was Lee Yong-dae. Together, they reached a world ranking of No.1 in August 2014. Yoo was among 4 players reported to be retiring and hanging up his national team jersey after the Rio Olympics but during the Korea Open that September, it was revealed that he would be continuing to play on the national team after his partner Lee Yong-dae retired. Sudket Prapakamol (; ; born 8 February 1980) is a badminton player from Thailand. He is a police lieutenant and a sportsman like his brother. He has a Bachelor's degree from the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce. Career He competed in badminton at the 2004 Summer Olympics in men's doubles with partner Patapol Ngernsrisuk. They were defeated in the round of 32 by Anthony Clark and Nathan Robertson of Great Britain. Prapakamol also competed in the mixed doubles with partner Saralee Thungthongkam. Wang Yihan (born 18 January 1988) is a retired Chinese professional badminton player and former women's singles world champion and Olympic silver medalist. Wang started her career with her coach Wang Pengren at only nine years of age. She was selected for the junior team in 2004, and after being promoted to the senior team in 2006, she began to shine in major tournaments. Boonsak Ponsana (; ; born 22 February 1982) is a Thai badminton player. His younger sister Salakjit Ponsana is also part of the Thailand badminton team.
