BWF World Tour
The BWF World Tour is a Grade 2 badminton tournament series, sanctioned by Badminton World Federation (BWF). It is a competition open to the top world ranked players in singles (men's and women's) and doubles (men's, women's and mixed). The competition was announced on 19 March 2017 and came into effect starting from 2018, replacing the BWF Super Series, which was held from 2007 to 2017. The BWF World Tour are divided into six levels, namely World Tour Finals, Super 1000, Super 750, Super 500, and Super 300 in order (part of the HSBC World Tour). One other category of tournament, the BWF Tour Super 100 level, also offers ranking points. Features Prize money This table shows minimum total prize money for each level of BWF World Tour tournament. The minimum total prize money is decreased due to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021. Badminton World Federation
The Badminton World Federation, aka BWF, is the international governing body for the sport of badminton approved by the International Olympic Committee. It was founded on 5 July 1934 as the International Badminton Federation with nine member nations: Canada, Denmark, England, France, Ireland, Netherlands, New Zealand, Scotland and Wales. In 1981, the IBF merged with the World Badminton Federation, and on 24 September 2006, at the Extraordinary General Meeting in Madrid, the name of the organization was changed to Badminton World Federation. When the BWF was founded, its head office was located in Cheltenham, UK. It was then relocated to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on October 1, 2005. Khunying Patama Leeswadtrakul of Thailand is the current president. The BWF has 202 member associations around the world, organized into 5 continental confederations. 2025 BWF World Tour
The 2025 BWF World Tour (officially known as the 2025 HSBC BWF World Tour for sponsorship reasons) is the eighth season of the BWF World Tour of badminton, a circuit of 29 tournaments leading up to the World Tour Finals. The 30 tournaments are divided into five levels: Level 1, the World Tour Finals; Level 2, Super 1000 (4 tournaments); Level 3, Super 750 (6 tournaments); Level 4, Super 500 (9 tournaments); and Level 5, Super 300 (10 tournaments). Each of these tournaments offers different ranking points and prize money. The highest points and prize pools are offered at the Super 1000 level (including the World Tour Finals). Another tournament category, the BWF Tour Super 100 (level 6), also offers BWF World Tour ranking points.
