BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artists
BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artists scheme (also known as the NGA scheme) was launched in 1999 by Adam Gatehouse as part of the BBC's commitment to young musical talent. Each autumn six or seven young artists at the beginning of careers on the national and international music scenes join the scheme for a two-year period. Since 2006 a jazz artist has also been invited every other year. The artists are given performance opportunities, including Radio 3 studio recordings, appearances and recordings with the BBC Orchestras and appearances at several music festivals, including the Cheltenham Music Festival and the BBC Proms. They also regularly appear at the Edinburgh International Festival, Aldeburgh Festival, East Neuk Festival, Gregynog Music Festival, Gregynog Festival, London Festival of Baroque Music and the York Early Music Festival. Artists also appear at London's Wigmore Hall in the Radio 3 Lunchtime Concert series, as well as at the Sage Gateshead and other UK concert venues ...

Jonathan Lemalu
Jonathan Fa'afetai Lemalu (born 1976) is a New Zealand bass baritone opera singer. Born to Samoan parents who had emigrated to New Zealand, he was educated in Dunedin. His first singing teacher was Honor McKellar, who began teaching him while he attended Otago Boys' High School. He studied both Law and Music at the University of Otago, graduating with a Bachelor of Laws in 1999. Lemalu studied at the Royal College of Music (RCM), where he won the college's gold medal award in 2002. He won the prestigious London-based Kathleen Ferrier Award (previously won by Malvina Major in 1966) that same year. He was a BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist from 2002 to 2004. He was the 2004 winner of the Royal Philharmonic Society's award for Young Artist of the Year. Masabane Cecilia Rangwanasha (born 4 November 1993) is a South African operatic and concert soprano. Early life She was born in Lebowakgomo, Limpopo province. She started singing at school and in church at a very young age. She was educated at the University of Cape Town. She was a "Young Artist" with the Cape Town Opera company for two years, and appeared in ''Die Zauberflöte'', ''Mandela Trilogy'' and ''Porgy and Bess''. Leonkoro Quartet
The Leonkoro Quartet is a string quartet, formed in 2019 and based in Berlin, Germany. In April 2022, the quartet won first prize and no less than 9 of the special prizes at the prestigious Wigmore Hall International String Quartet Competition in London, despite being the youngest quartet competing, with an average age of just 24. They followed this in May by winning the Bordeaux International String Quartet Competition, also winning the Audience Prize. They also won a number of competition prizes prior to these successes. In November 2022 they received the MERITO Award based on quality of public performances over the year. The ensemble takes its name from the Esperanto words for 'lion' and 'heart'. Geneva Lewis
Geneva Lewis (born 1998) is a New Zealand-born violinist now living in the United States. Lewis was born in Auckland, New Zealand. Her father is Chris Lewis, a former professional tennis player. She began playing the violin at the age of three. Living in Irvine, she studied with Aimée Kreston from the age of seven at the Colburn School of Performing Arts in Los Angeles. Later, she studied with Miriam Fried at the New England Conservatory of Music. In 2020, Lewis won the Grand Prize at the Concert Artists Guild Competition. Fergus McCreadie
Fergus McCreadie (born 12 July 1997) is a Scottish jazz pianist and composer. His style revolves around a fusion of contemporary jazz with Scottish folk music. He has released four albums as leader of a jazz trio, piano trio and two EPs to date. His third album, ''Forest Floor'', was shortlisted for the 2022 Mercury Prize, and won the Scottish Album of the Year Award and the Scottish Jazz Award for Best Album. Johanna Wallroth (born 1993) is a Swedish operatic soprano who made an international career in opera and concert. Emma Rawicz is a London-based jazz musician, saxophonist, composer and bandleader. Career Rawicz won Jazz Newcomer of the Year at the Parliamentary Jazz Awards 2022, won a Drake YolanDa award in 2021, was a finalist in BBC Young Musician Jazz Award 2022 and nominated for Instrumentalist of the Year at Jazz FM Awards 2021. Emma Rawicz has chromesthesia, a type of synesthesia which involves seeing colours when hearing sounds. BIS Records is a record label founded in 1973 by Robert von Bahr. It is located in Åkersberga, Sweden.
