Female
An organism's sex is female ( symbol: ♀) if it produces the ovum (egg cell), the type of gamete (sex cell) that fuses with the male gamete (sperm cell) during sexual reproduction. Astrid North
Astrid North (Astrid Karina North Radmann; 24 August 1973, West Berlin – 25 June 2019, Berlin) was a German soul singer and songwriter. She was the singer of the German band , with whom she released five Albums. As guest singer of the band she published three albums. Career North had her first experiences as a singer with her student band Colorful Dimension in Berlin. In March 1992, she met B. La (Bela Braukmann) and Tex Super () who then studied at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg and who were looking for a singer for their band Cultured Pearls. Astrid Schramm (born 3 May 1956) is a German politician. Since 2024 she has been the state chairwoman of the Sahra Wagenknecht Alliance in Saarland. Astrid Olofsdotter ( Norwegian: ''Astrid Olavsdatter''; English: ''Aestrith''; died 1035) was the queen consort of Saint Olaf, who reigned over Norway from 1019 to 1028. She is the only woman to have a surviving skaldic praise-poem dedicated to her for her decisive address of the Swedish army in support of her stepson, Magnus the Good. Biography Astrid was born to King Olof Skötkonung of Sweden and his Obotritian mistress Edla. She was the half sister of King Anund Jacob of Sweden and sister of King Emund the Old of Sweden. Astrid Njalsdotter
Astrid Njalsdotter (or Ástríðr Njálsdóttir) of Skjalgaätten was a Norwegian noblewoman who married Ragnvald the Old and became the ancestress of the Swedish Stenkil dynasty (c. 1060 – c. 1125). She is sometimes assumed to have been a Swedish queen, though the evidence is inconclusive. Dynastic ancestress The only source available for Astrid is '' Hervarar saga ok Heiðreks'', which says that she was the daughter of Njal Finnsson from Halogaland. From other Norse sources it appears that Njal Finnsson was the son of Gunhild Halvdansdotter of the Skjalga family, a cognatic descendant of Harald Fairhair, the first king of Norway and an alleged scion of the Yngling dynasty. According to the saga, she gave birth to Stenkil (d. 1066) who became a Jarl in Sweden and later inherited the kingdom in c. 1060. Astrid Løken (14 April 1911 – 19 January 2008) was a Norwegian entomologist and member of the Norwegian resistance movement during World War II. Spending most of her career at Bergen Museum, from 1949 to 1979, she was the first female member of the Norwegian Entomological Society, and specialized in the bumblebee genus ''Bombus''. Astrid Krag (born 17 November 1982) is a Danish politician, who is a member of the Folketing for the Social Democrats political party. Astrid Gjertsen (14 September 192817 June 2020) was a Norwegian-Danish politician who served as a member of the Norwegian Parliament as a member of the Conservative Party from 1969 to 1989. From 1981 to 1986, she served as the Minister of Consumer Affairs and Administration. In 2013, Gjertsen was named as the ninth most important woman in Norwegian history by ''Verdens Gang''. Astrid Williamson (born 28 November 1968) is a Scottish musician, composer, and songwriter. Ibolyka Astrid Maria Varnay (25 April 1918 – 4 September 2006) was a Swedish-born American dramatic soprano of Hungarian descent. She spent most of her career in the United States and Germany. She was one of the leading Wagnerian heroic sopranos of her generation.
