Archdeacons Of Stansted
The Archdeacons in the Diocese of Chelmsford are senior ecclesiastical officers in the Church of England in Essex and East London. They currently include: the Archdeacon of West Ham, the Archdeacon of Colchester and the archdeacons of Chelmsford, of Barking, of Stansted and of Southend. Each one has responsibility over a geographical area within the diocese. History When the diocese was created, it consisted of the ancient archdeaconries of Essex and Colchester. Diocese Of Chelmsford
The Diocese of Chelmsford is a Church of England diocese, part of the Province of Canterbury. It was created on 23 January 1914 from part of the Diocese of St Albans. It covers Essex and part of East London. Since 1984 it is divided into three episcopal areas, each with its own area bishop. The diocese covers around with a population of more than 3 million. It has 463 parishes and 588 churches. History The diocese was created on 23 January 1914, as part of the provisions of the Bishoprics of Sheffield, Chelmsford and the County of Suffolk Act 1913. Jonathan Bailey (bishop)
Jonathan Sansbury Bailey, (24 February 1940 – 9 December 2008) was an English Anglican bishop. He was Bishop of Dunwich from 1992 to 1995, Bishop of Derby from 1995 to 2005, and Clerk of the Closet from 1997 to 2005. Early life He was educated at Quarry Bank High School, Liverpool, and Trinity College, Cambridge, where he initially graduated in history before further study in the Divinity School, followed by ordination training at Ridley Hall, Cambridge. Mina Smallman
Wilhelmina Tokcumboh "Mina" Smallman (born 29 October 1956) is a British retired Anglican priest and former school teacher. She served as the Archdeacon of Southend in the Diocese of Chelmsford from September 2013 until her retirement in December 2016. Following the murder of two of her daughters in 2020, she became a campaigner for women's safety and police reform. Early life Smallman was born on 29 October 1956 in Middlesex. The Miss North Carolina competition selects the representative for the state of North Carolina to compete in the annual Miss America competition. The competition has been held in High Point, North Carolina since 2021 and was previously held in Raleigh every year since 1978. John Perumbalath (born 23 May 1966) is a British retired Anglican bishop. He became Bishop of Liverpool in the Church of England Anglican Diocese of Liverpool, Diocese of Liverpool in January 2023.
