The Workers' Federation of Sports (), often just called the AIF, was a sporting organization in Norway (mostly out of Norway) between 1924 and 1946.Heinemann, Klaus. Several Sweden-based sports organizations were members of the AIF sports union. In 1930 to fight the international political blockade against the Soviet Union, AIF invited the Soviet Union national football team which toured Norway and Sweden in summer of 1930. ''Kampforbundet for Rød Sportsenhet'' ('Struggle League for Red Sports Unity') was a sporting organization in Norway. It has sections for amateur boxing and amateur wrestling, and has had several Olympians in its ranks. Socialist Workers' Sport International (, SASI) was an international socialist sporting organisation, based in Lucerne. It was founded in 1920, and consisted of six national federations (with a combined membership of about one million) at the time of its foundation. 1931 Workers' Summer Olympiad
The 1931 Workers' Olympiad was the third edition of the International Workers' Olympiads. The games were held from 19 to 26 July in Vienna, Austria. Some 100,000 athletes participated in the Olympiad, including those taking part at the mass gymnastics event. The games had about 250,000 spectators, making them larger than the 1932 Los Angeles Olympics both in participants and spectators. The opening ceremony, ''Das Große Festspiel'', was written by the Austrian writer Robert Lucas with music composed by the Argentinian composer Erwin Leuchter together with Franz Leo Human. The Workers' Olympiad was the largest sporting event held in Vienna up to that date. Norwegian Trade Union Confederation
The Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions (, LO) is a national trade union center, decidedly the largest and probably the most influential umbrella organization of labour unions in Norway. The 21 national unions affiliated to the LO have almost 1,000,000 members of a Norwegian population of 5 million. The majority of affiliated unions organizes traditional blue collar workers, but the largest affiliate is the Norwegian Union of Municipal and General Employees which makes up more than a third of all members. Ola Johan Brandstorp (4 September 1902 – 10 December 1963) was a Norwegian journalist, sports official, politician for the Labour Party and military officer. Pre-war career He was born in Skjeberg, and had middle school education and petty officer training. He joined the Labour Party in 1923. In the same year he was hired in the office of the newspaper ''Østfold Arbeiderblad'', where he started a journalistic career in 1924 as subeditor. He later worked for ''Arbeiderbladet'' in the years leading up to World War II. In Østfold Brandstorp chaired the ''Østfold District of Workers' Sports'' from 1927 to 1929, and was a national board member of ''Arbeidernes Idrettsforbund''. He represented ''Arbeidernes Idrettsforbund'' at the Fourth Congress of the Red Sport International in 1928, together with Thorvald Olsen, Thor Jørgensen, Natvig Pedersen and Eigil Eriksen.
