Rylee Anuheakeʻalaokalokelani Jenkins (born December 10, 1985), known professionally as Anuhea, is a Hawaiian musician, singer, and songwriter. Early life and education Anuhea grew up in Makawao, Hawaii on the island of Maui. She is of Native Hawaiians, Hawaiian, Chinese, German, Welsh people, Welsh, and Native Americans in the United States, Native American descent. Anuhea graduated from Kamehameha Schools in 2003. Upon graduation she attended Chapman University in Orange County, California but left in 2005. She competed in the 2006 Miss Maui Pageant where she won Miss Congeniality and 2nd Runner Up. Maui County (), officially the County of Maui, is a county in the U.S. state of Hawaii. It consists of the islands of Maui, Lānai, Molokai (except for a portion of Molokai that comprises Kalawao County), Kahoolawe, and Molokini. The latter two are uninhabited. Native Hawaiians (also known as Indigenous Hawaiians, Kānaka Maoli, Aboriginal Hawaiians, or simply Hawaiians; , , , and ) are the Indigenous Polynesian people of the Hawaiian Islands. Jake Shimabukuro (born November 3, 1976) is a ukulele player and composer from Hawaii known for his fast and complex finger work. His music combines elements of jazz, blues, funk, rock, bluegrass, classical, folk, and flamenco. Shimabukuro has written numerous original compositions, including the entire soundtracks to two Japanese films, '' Hula Girls'' (2007) and ''Sideways'' (2009), the Japanese remake of the American film of the same name.
