A serial killer is typically a person who kills three or more people, with the murders taking place over more than a month and including a significant period of time between them. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) defines serial murder as "a series of two or more murders, committed as separate events, usually, but not always, by one offender acting alone". The United States has by far the largest number of documented serial killers in the world. According to Radford University's Serial Killer Information Center, it has more documented serial killers than the next ten highest countries on the list combined. Herman Allen
David Herman Allen (November 18, 1905 – October 30, 1942) was an American serial killer who was convicted for the 1942 triple murder of his family members, a few years after having been released from prison for a prior murder conviction. He was sentenced to death for the later crimes and subsequently executed for them later that same year. Stephen Wayne Anderson
Stephen Wayne Anderson (July 8, 1953 – January 29, 2002) was an American contract killer and serial killer who was executed at California's San Quentin State Prison by lethal injection in 2002 for the murder of Elizabeth Lyman. He was either known to have killed or admitted to the killings of at least eight other people, including a fellow inmate and at least seven contract killings. Joshua Julius Anderson (born June 17, 1987) is an American intellectually disabled serial killer who shot four to five people to death in northern Tulsa, Oklahoma, between late 2006 and early 2007. He was arrested on the same day as his final two murders, and confessed soon afterwards. He was sentenced to four life terms and an additional 35 years imprisonment. Early life Joshua Julius Anderson was born on June 17, 1987. Little is known about his childhood. At age 15, he was accused of shooting with intent to kill in Muskogee.
