Ainslie Baronets
The Ainslie baronetcy, of Great Torrington in the County of Lincoln, was a title in the Baronetage of the United Kingdom. It was created on 19 November 1804 for the Scottish diplomat Sir Robert Ainslie, 1st Baronet, Sir Robert Ainslie, with remainder to Robert Sharpe Ainslie, son of General George Ainslie, brother of the first Baronet. Robert Sharpe Ainslie succeeded in the baronetcy in 1812 according to the special remainder. He had previously represented Mitchell (UK Parliament constituency), Mitchell in Parliament. The title became extinct on his death in 1858. Lake Ainslie
Lake Ainslie is the largest natural freshwater lake on Cape Breton. The Southwest Margaree River starts at the lake and empties into the Gulf of Saint Lawrence. The lake is approximately long and averages in width. It was formed during the Pleistocene, about two million years ago, when glacial outwash blocked the drainage of the valley of Loch Ban. It is underlain primarily by sedimentary deposits of the Horton and Windsor Formations, dating back about 350 million years. A number of bald eagles nest around the lake. Mount Ainslie is a hill with an elevation of that is located in the northeastern suburbs of Canberra, in the Australian Capital Territory, Australia. Mount Ainslie lies within part of the Canberra Nature Park. Cultural significance According to the Ngunnawal and Ngambri people, Mount Ainslie is a sacred place primarily for women’s business. Mount Ainslie and adjacent Galambary (Black Mountain (Australian Capital Territory), Black Mountain) are referred to as women’s breasts. Ainslie Football Club
The Ainslie Football Club is a semi-professional Australian rules football club based in Canberra, in the Australian Capital Territory. The club was formed in 1927 and won its first premiership in 1929. Ex- St Kilda star Kevin Neale was captain-coach for six seasons (1978–1983), during which time Ainslie won four premierships: 1979, 1980, 1982, 1983. In 1984 Ex-Collingwood and Richmond player Rod Oborne captain-coached the club, winning the 1984 premiership. The club was also coached by former VFL/AFL great David Cloke. Chris Rourke coached Ainslie for 14 years from 2007 to 2020 taking the club to six premierships during that period. The club entered the NEAFL for the competition's inaugural season in 2011 – finishing the year as Eastern Conference premiers. The firm of Harrison Ainslie & Co. was a British firm of ironmasters and iron ore merchants, selling high quality haematite from their mines on Lindal Moor to smelters in Glasgow, Scotland, South Wales and the Midlands. Ainslie Tavern Bond
The Ainslie Tavern Bond (also known as the "Ainslie Band", or the "Ainslie Tavern Band") was a document signed on about 20 April 1567 by a number of Scottish bishops and nobles. The bond approved the Earl of Bothwell's acquittal on 12 April of implication in the murder of Lord Darnley, recommended him as an appropriate husband for Mary, Queen of Scots, and pledged to assist in defending such a marriage. Context Lord Darnley had married Mary on 29 July 1565, but their marriage proved disastrous. On 9 March 1566, Mary's Italian private secretary, David Rizzio, was murdered in the Queen's presence at Holyrood. The murderers were led by Lord Ruthven, but it was widely believed that the murder arose from Darnley's jealousy.
