Afghans
Afghans (; ) are the citizens and nationals of Afghanistan, as well as their descendants in the Afghan diaspora. The country is made up of various ethnic groups, of which Pashtuns, Tajiks, Hazaras, and Uzbeks are the largest. The three main languages spoken among the Afghan people are Dari, Pashto, and Southern Uzbek language, Uzbek. Historically, the term "Afghan" Afghan (ethnonym), was a Pashtun ethnonym, but later came to refer to all people in the country, regardless of their ethnicity. Sediq Afghan ( Dari: ) is an Afghan mathematician and political activist. He is the founder and head of the World Philosophical Math Research Center in Kabul, Afghanistan. He had a prominent role in protests in Kabul about Afghanistan- and Islam-related issues, including an anti-American protest in 2003, Reuters (2003First Anti-American Protest Held in Afghan Capital News article posted at CommonDreams.org, accessed on 2010-02-01. a hunger strike to protest beatings of journalists by Afghan security officers in 2006, and another one to protest the 2008 Danish Muhammad cartoons.
