Aclis Angulata
''Aclis angulata'' is a species of sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusk in the family Eulimidae. Homonymy Junior homonym of ''Aclis angulata'' P. Fischer, 1869. Description The length of the shell attains , and its diameter is . The shell is small, elongate, and turreted, with a smooth white surface and composed of six whorls. The first two whorls are large, convex, and smooth, transitioning to subsequent whorls that are obliquely sloping above, sharply carinate-angular at the midsection, and constricted below the angle. These later whorls are adorned with prominently elevated, closely spaced, and regular growth lines. The body whorl exhibits a very obtusely rounded-angular profile at the periphery. The aperture is oblique and irregularly ovate, with a continuous, non-thickened peristome that is subtly sinuate above the angle near the suture. This little species is remarkable for its angular whorls, the regular close-set raised lines of growth, and large apex. Distribution T ...

Accessed through: World Register of Marine Species at: https://www.marinespecies.org/aphia.php?p=taxdetails&id=532322 on 2024-02-29 Description The length of the shell attains 4 mm, its diameter 1.1 mm. (Original description) The small, slender, elongate-conic shell is milk-white. There are two whorls in the protoconch, the first very much inflated, strongly rounded, and larger than the early post-nuclear whorls. The whorls of the teleoconch are well rounded and appressed at the summit. They are sculptured with somewhat irregular, feebly developed axial ribs, of which 18 occur upon the first and second, 20 upon the third and fourth, and 22 upon the penultimate whorl. The sutures are strongly constricted. The periphery of the body whorl is marked by a very feeble, slender spiral cord. The base of the shell is short and w ...

The body whorl is slightly prolonged. The aperture is ovate. The outer lip is thin. The columella is produced, causing a slight angular projection at the base of the lip.

(Original description) The shell forms an elongated cone. It is thin, semitransparent and glossy. There is no sculpture. The colour of the shell is clear white. The spire is gradually tapering to a fine point. It contains 6–7 convex whorls. The body whorl, with the aperture upwards, equals the rest of the shell. The first whorl is globular. The nearly straight suture is well defined but not deep. The aperture is projecting, more round than oval and inclined to squarish, contracted above and effuse or spread out below. The base is entire and not sinuous or notched. The outer lip is sharp-edged and expanding ...
