ARCAP Large Off-road
ARCAP (Autoreview Car Assessment Program) is an automobile safety assessment program founded by the Russian car magazine Autoreview. It was Russia's first independent rating for the passive safety of a car, presenting itself as the local edition of the Euro NCAP program. It also provides exclusive test results on some models not marketed in Europe or North America, such as AvtoVAZ vehicles. History Since 1996, Autoreview has been conducting independent crash tests for cars sold in the Russian market. The early tests did not comply with international car safety testing methodology. In 2001, the first test was carried out according to the rules of Euro NCAP, though only for frontal impact. UAZ Patriot
The UAZ Patriot ( AZ-3163 is a mid-size body-on-frame SUV produced by the UAZ division of Sollers in Ulyanovsk, Russia. It was introduced in 2005 and replaced the older UAZ Simbir (UAZ-3162). Extensive use of newer parts, large carrying capacity, good off-road capabilities and an affordable price (<15,000 ) predicted good sales in Russia. 12,011 units were sold in the year 2007. The SUV accommodates five adults and can carry about of cargo. Timeline In October 2011, UAZ announced the release of a limited edition SUV in honour of the 70th anniversary of the plant.
