The following is a list of songs released by the Swedish supergroup ABBA, which was formed in Stockholm by Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson, and Anni-Frid Lyngstad. Including their releases under their former name "Björn & Benny, Agnetha & Anni-Frid" or "Björn & Benny, Agnetha & Frida", ABBA have released songs for nine studio albums, a Spanish language album, a series of compilations and two live albums. A number of unreleased songs recorded by ABBA have not appeared on any of these releases. ABBA ( ) were a Swedish pop group formed in Stockholm in 1972 by Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson, and Anni-Frid Lyngstad. They are one of the most popular and successful musical groups of all time, and are one of the List of best-selling music artists, best-selling music acts in the history of popular music. In , ABBA became 's first winner of the Eurovision Song Contest with the song "Waterloo (ABBA song), Waterloo", which in 2005 was chosen as the best song in the competition's history as part of the Congratulations: 50 Years of the Eurovision Song Contest, 50th anniversary celebration of the contest. Voulez-Vous
''Voulez-Vous'' (; French for "Do you want (to)?") is the sixth studio album by the Swedish supergroup ABBA. Released on 23 April 1979, the album yielded five hits, all of them big 1979 singles in Britain – " Chiquitita", " Does Your Mother Know", "I Have a Dream" and the double A-side " Voulez-Vous"/" Angeleyes". The title track showed the group embracing disco music, which at the time was at its peak. The album topped the charts in a number of countries and ranked among Britain's five best-selling albums of the year. It was the first ABBA album to be mainly recorded at Polar Studios in Stockholm, and the only ABBA album to include a studio recording made outside Sweden: the instrumental backing track for the title track was partly recorded at Criteria Studios in Miami. Waterloo (album)
''Waterloo'' is the second studio album by the Swedish pop group ABBA, and the first released internationally. It was originally released on 4 March 1974 in Sweden through Polar Music. The album's title track won ABBA the 1974 Eurovision Song Contest and became a global hit, launching the group's career. Recording Recording sessions for ''Waterloo'' began on 24 September 1973 with the track "Dance (While the Music Still Goes On)". This song was unusual in that it is the only ABBA track not to feature member Benny Andersson on keyboards, instead featuring American pianist John "Rabbit" Bundrick who was in Sweden at the time.Sleeve notes, ''Waterloo'' re-issue, Carl Magnus Palm, 2014 Bundrick, however, was not credited on the album. Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)
"Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)" is a song by Swedish recording group ABBA. A disco song, it was first recorded in August 1979 to promote the group's North American and European concert legs of ABBA: The Tour. It was released on 12 October 1979 as the sole single taken from their second greatest hits album '' Greatest Hits Vol. 2'' (1979). Agnetha Fältskog sang the lead vocals to the song. Although it was not recorded for it, "Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)" was included in reissues of the group's sixth studio album '' Voulez-Vous'' (1979). "Money, Money, Money" is a song recorded by Swedish pop group ABBA, written by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus with Anni-Frid Lyngstad singing lead vocals. It was released on 1 November 1976, as the second single from the group's fourth studio album, '' Arrival'' (1976). The B-side, "Crazy World", was recorded in 1976 during the sessions for the ''ABBA'' album. The song (originally titled "Gypsy Girl") is sung from the viewpoint of a woman who, despite hard work, can barely keep her finances in surplus, and therefore desires a well-off man. ABBA perform parts of "Money, Money, Money" live in the 1977 film '' ABBA: The Movie''. In the popular musical, '' Mamma Mia!'', the song is sung by the character of Donna as she explains how hard she has to work to keep the taverna in order and her dreams of a better life. "Knowing Me, Knowing You" is a song recorded by Swedish pop group ABBA, released in February 1977 as the third single from the group's fourth album, '' Arrival'' (1976). It was written by Benny Andersson, Björn Ulvaeus and Stig Anderson, with Anni-Frid Lyngstad singing the lead vocals. "Chiquitita" ("Little Girl" in Spanish) is a song recorded by Swedish pop group ABBA. It was released in January 1979 as the first single from '' Voulez-Vous'' (1979), the group's sixth album. Agnetha Fältskog performs the lead vocals. Originally, the track " If It Wasn't for the Nights" was going to be the album's lead single, but after "Chiquitita" was completed these plans were abandoned, and it remained an album track. Background and release Many preliminary versions of "Chiquitita" exist. It had working titles of "Kålsupare", "3 Wise Guys", "Chiquitita Angelina" and "In the Arms of Rosalita". A revised version, which had a sound that was influenced by the Peruvian song " El Condor Pasa (If I Could)" performed by Simon and Garfunkel, was recorded in December 1978 and released as a single in January 1979. ''ABBA'' is the third studio album by the Swedish pop group ABBA. It was originally released on 21 April 1975 through Polar Music and featured the hits "SOS (ABBA song), SOS", "I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do" and Mamma Mia (ABBA song), "Mamma Mia". Bang-A-Boomerang
"Bang-A-Boomerang" is a song by ABBA, first released by Svenne & Lotta (both Swedish and English-language versions). The track was first recorded as a demo with English lyrics (but without any recorded vocals) in September 1974 by the ABBA musicians for their eponymous album ''ABBA''. The song was written by Benny Andersson, Björn Ulvaeus and Stig Anderson and at one point had the working title "Stop and Listen to Your Heart". The lyrics compare the "message of love" with the returning boomerangs which the Aboriginal Australians developed. ''Arrival'' is the fourth studio album by the Swedish pop group ABBA. It was originally released in Sweden on 11 October 1976 by Polar Records. The track "Fernando", which had been recently released as a single in March 1976, was included on the Australian and New Zealand versions of the album.
