Morning Live
''Morning Live'' is a magazine programme that airs on weekday mornings between 9:30 am and 10:45 am on BBC One. History ''Morning Live'' first broadcast on 26 October 2020 as a 40-part series to connect with viewers' real-life concerns and to offer trustworthy and expert advice. The programme returned for a second series in January 2021, following the launch series, which averaged 1,400,000 viewers. One episode in February 2021, achieved 1,800,000 viewers. In February 2022, ''Morning Live'' moved to a new studio "in the heart of Manchester city centre." Upon its move to Manchester, ''Morning Live'' was averaging 1,200,000 viewers, and was consistently achieving slot-winning figures. In November 2023, ''Morning Live'' won the Best Factual Series at the Royal Television Society's North West Awards. Lucy Ward (footballer)
Lucy Ward (born 15 April 1974) is a former English association football, footballer who since 2007 has been a co-commentator for broadcasters such as BT Sport, BBC, Talksport, Channel 4 and Sky Sports working on women's and men's football. She has worked on World Cups and Olympic Games, and recently worked for Prime Video and BT Sport on Premier League games. As a footballer she played as a forward (association football), forward. Ward represented England at Under-21 level and spent most of her senior career with Leeds United Women F.C., Leeds United. Lucy was also head of education and welfare at the Leeds United boys' academy from 1998 to 2015 until being sacked by the club; she subsequently won a sex discrimination and unfair dismissal case in 2016. Eniola Aluko (born 21 February 1987) is a British football executive, football broadcaster and former professional Football player, player who played as a Winger (association football), winger and Striker (association football), striker. Aluko has been a regular broadcaster for live football on ITV, BT Sport, Amazon Prime and Fox Sports in the USA, including men's Premier League matches and Women's Super League since 2014. Joey Barton
Joseph Anthony Barton (born 2 September 1982) is an English professional football manager and former player who played as a midfielder. Barton made 269 appearances in the Premier League, including 130 for Manchester City; he was most recently the manager of League One side Bristol Rovers. Barton was born and raised in Huyton, Merseyside. He began his football career with Manchester City in 2002 after working his way through their youth system. ''Prisoner'' (known in the UK and the US as ''Prisoner: Cell Block H'' and in Canada as ''Caged Women'') is an Australian television soap opera, which was broadcast on Network Ten (formerly the 0-10 Network) from February 27 (Melbourne) and February 26 (Sydney) 1979 to December 1986 (Melbourne), running eight series and 692 episodes. ''Prisoner'' was the first Australian series to feature a primarily female-dominated cast and carried the slogan "If you think prison is hell for a man, imagine what it would be like for a woman!" Horizon Computer System
The British Post Office scandal, also called the Horizon IT scandal, involved the Post Office pursuing thousands of innocent subpostmasters for apparent financial shortfalls caused by faults in Horizon, an accounting software system developed by Fujitsu. Between 1999 and 2015, more than 900 subpostmasters were convicted of theft, fraud and false accounting based on faulty Horizon data, with about 700 of these prosecutions carried out by the Post Office. Other subpostmasters were prosecuted but not convicted, forced to cover shortfalls—caused by Horizon—with their own money, or had their contracts terminated. The court cases, criminal convictions, imprisonments, loss of livelihoods and homes, debts, and bankruptcies led to stress, illness, family breakdowns and at least four suicides. Paula Anne Vennells (born 21 February 1959) is a British former businesswoman who was the chief executive officer (CEO) of Post Office Limited from 2012 to 2019. She is also an ordained Anglican priest who ceased her clerical duties in 2021. Vennells was the CEO of Post Office Limited during the latter part of the British Post Office scandal, in which more than 900 subpostmasters were wrongly convicted between 1999 and 2015 of theft, false accounting or fraud, owing to apparent shortfalls at their Post Office branches that were caused by flaws in Horizon, an accounting software used by the Post Office. Many more subpostmasters paid the Post Office for alleged shortfalls or had their contracts terminated.
