On 2 September 2022, a police vehicle hit a bomb near the town of Corozal, killing seven police officers and injuring another. Bombing On 2 September 2022, a police vehicle carrying eight police officers was traveling to a social welfare event in the town of San Luis, while traveling through the small town of Corozal, the vehicle hit a bomb. ''El Colombiano'' () is the leading newspaper in Antioquia Department in Colombia whose headquarters are located in Medellín. The first edition of this newspaper was published on February 6, 1912, which only had one page, 13 advertisements, but no news articles. Juancho Vargas
Juan Roberto Vargas Schoonewolf (1934–2022), known as Juancho Vargas, was a Colombian pianist and composer. He played with several bands and orchestras in Colombia, and was pianist on the first recording of " Ay Cosita Linda". Biography Juancho Vargas was born on 11 June 1934 in Barranquilla. He started playing classical piano at a young age, and later studied at the Institute of Fine Arts in Barranquilla, where his teacher encouraged him to learn popular music. Vargas graduated from the Institute in 1952 and started his musical career playing with the Emisora Atlántico orchestra. In 1955 Vargas moved to Bogotá to study chemical engineering. There he met the brother of Lucho Bermúdez, who convinced him to move to Medellín to join Bermúdez's band, which Vargas did that same year. 2022 Risaralda Landslide
A large landslide occurred in Risaralda Department, Colombia on December 5, 2022. Impact At least 33 people were killed and nine others were rescued alive, four of them injured critically. All victims were inside a bus when the landslide buried the vehicle. At least three children were among those killed, according to Colombian President Gustavo Petro.
