2020 UCI World Tour
The 2020 UCI World Tour was a series of races that was scheduled to include thirty-six road bicycle racing, road cycling events throughout the 2020 in men's road cycling, 2020 cycling season. However, some of races were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The tour started with the opening stage of the 2020 Tour Down Under, Tour Down Under on 21 January, and concluded with the final stage of the 2020 Vuelta a España, Vuelta a España on 8 November. Events The 2020 calendar was initially announced in June 2019. In October 2019, the calendar was officially presented by the UCI. UCI WorldTour
The UCI WorldTour is the premier men's elite road cycling tour, sitting above the UCI ProSeries and various regional UCI Continental Circuits. It refers to both the tour of 38 events and, until 2019, an annual ranking system based upon performances in these. The World Ranking was launched in 2009, (known from 2009–2010 as the ''UCI World Ranking'') and merged fully with its predecessor the UCI ProTour in 2011. UCI WorldTeams must compete at all events that were part of the tour prior to the 2017 expansion. Grand Tour (cycling)
In road bicycle racing, a Grand Tour is one of the three major European professional cycling stage (bicycle race), stage races: Giro d'Italia, Tour de France, and Vuelta a España. Collectively they are termed the ''Grand Tours'', and all three races are similar in format, being three-week races with daily stages. They have a special status in the Union Cycliste Internationale, UCI regulations: more points for the UCI World Tour are distributed in Grand Tours than in other races, and they are the only stage races allowed to last longer than 14 days, and these differ from major stage races more than one week in duration. All three races have a substantial history, with the Tour de France first held in 1903, Giro d'Italia first held in 1909 and the Vuelta a España first held in 1935. Daryl Impey
Daryl Impey (born 6 December 1984) is a South African former professional road bicycle racer, road cyclist, who competed as a professional from 2008 to 2023. Impey is an all-rounder; he generally comes to the fore on tough uphill sprints. Impey is a two-time winner of the Tour Down Under, and the only rider to have won the race in consecutive years, winning in 2018 Tour Down Under, 2018, and 2019 Tour Down Under, 2019. Pavel Sivakov
Pavel Alekseyevich Sivakov (; born 11 July 1997) is a French cyclist who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . He was born in Italy to Russian parents who subsequently moved to France, and switched his sporting allegiance from Russia to France in 2022. He has six professional cycling victories including a general classification win on the UCI World Tour at the 2019 Tour de Pologne. Personal life Sivakov is the son of Russian former cyclists Alexei Sivakov and Aleksandra Koliaseva. He was born in Italy, but grew up in Soueich, Haute Garonne in France. Dries Devenyns (born 22 July 1983) is a Belgian retired road bicycle racer, who rode for UCI WorldTeam . He retired at the end of 2023. 2020 Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race
The 2020 Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race was a road cycling race that was held on 2 February 2020 in Geelong, Australia. It was the sixth edition of the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race and the second event of the 2020 UCI World Tour. The race was won in a two-up sprint by Dries Devenyns of the team, ahead of rider Pavel Sivakov, with 's Daryl Impey finishing third for the third year in succession. Simon Geschke (born 13 March 1986) is a German former road cyclist, who competed as a professional from 2009 to 2024. EuroEyes Cyclassics
The Hamburg Cyclassics (currently known as the Bemer Cyclassics for sponsorship purposes) is an annual one-day professional and amateur cycling race in and around Hamburg, Germany. Although the route varies, its distance is always around 250 km. The course's most significant difficulty is Waseberg hill in Blankenese, which is addressed three times in the race finale. Until 2016 it was Germany's only event on the UCI World Tour calendar, before the inclusion of Eschborn–Frankfurt – Rund um den Finanzplatz in 2017.
