2019–20 College Football Playoff
The 2019–20 College Football Playoff was a single-elimination postseason tournament that determined the national champion of the 2019 NCAA Division I FBS football season. It was the sixth edition of the College Football Playoff (CFP) and involved the top four teams in the country as ranked by the College Football Playoff poll playing in two semifinals, with the winners of each advancing to the national championship game. The 2019 Peach Bowl (known for sponsorship reasons as the 2019 Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl) was a college football bowl game played on December 28, 2019, at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, with kickoff at 4:00 p.m. EST on ESPN. It was the 52nd edition of the Peach Bowl, and was one of the 2019–20 bowl games concluding the 2019 FBS football season. Joseph Robert Castiglione (born October 8, 1957) is vice president for Intercollegiate Athletics Programs and Athletic director, Director of Athletics at the University of Oklahoma. Franklin Mitchell Beamer (born October 18, 1946) is an American former college football player and coach, most notably for the Virginia Tech Hokies football, Virginia Tech Hokies. Beamer was a cornerback, defensive cornerback for Virginia Tech from 1966 to 1968. He began coaching as a graduate assistant at the University of Maryland in 1972, and was the head football coach at Murray State University from 1981 to 1986. He became the head football coach at Virginia Tech in 1987, where he stayed for the remainder of his coaching career until 2015,. Gary Barta (born September 4, 1963) is the former athletic director at the University of Iowa. Barta retired from the university on July 31, 2023. Early life and education Barta was born on 4 September 1963, and grew up in the Minneapolis area. Barta earned his bachelor's degree from North Dakota State University (NDSU).
