2018 NPSL Season
The 2018 National Premier Soccer League season was part of the 106th season of FIFA-sanctioned soccer in the United States and the 16th season of the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL). Elm City Express was the defending champion. The 2018 NPSL champion qualifies to play for the 2019 Hank Steinbrecher Cup organized by the United States Adult Soccer Association. The NPSL has elected to use results of the 2018 league season to determine which NPSL clubs qualify for the 2019 U.S. Open Cup. The United States Soccer Federation has not yet determined how many berths for the U.S. Open Cup will be awarded to NPSL clubs. Miami FC 2 defeated FC Motown on the road, 3–1, to win the 2018 NPSL championship. Dylan Mares was named Man of the Match. National Premier Soccer League
The National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) is an American men's association football, soccer league. The league is officially affiliated to the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA) and has automatic qualification for the U.S. Open Cup. It is the successor of the Men's Premier Soccer League, a regional league originally based in the Western United States, which has now expanded nationwide to encompass teams from 29 states. The league's motto is "A National League with a Regional Focus". Competition format The National Premier Soccer League is divided into four separate regions (Northeast, South, Midwest, and West). Each region is divided into conferences with a varying number of teams per conference. Legacy is an American soccer team based in Williamsburg, Virginia, United States. The team plays in the Mid-Atlantic Conference of the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL), the fourth tier of the American soccer pyramid. The team was founded in 1976 as Williamsburg Soccer Club. It played in the USL Premier Development League (PDL), considered roughly equal to the NPSL, until 2009, after which the franchise folded and the team left the league. In June 2013, it was announced that the club would re-join the fourth tier for the 2014 season in the NPSL. The team plays its home games in James City County Stadium-Wanner Stadium. FC Buffalo is an American soccer club based in Buffalo, New York, United States, with teams in men's and women's soccer. Founded in 2009, the men's team plays in the USL League Two, a national amateur league at the fourth tier of the American Soccer Pyramid, in the Midwest Division. Dylan Mares
Dylan Mares (born February 11, 1992) is an American professional soccer player who plays as an attacking midfielder. Career Early career From Zionsville, Indiana, played youth soccer with the Indiana Fire Academy from 2008 to 2010. Mares and A. J. Corrado led Zionsville Community High School to a 2009 IHSAA state championship in soccer. He then started his collegiate career at the University of Louisville where he played college soccer for the Louisville Cardinals from 2010 to 2012. Despite missing the entire 2011 season due to a knee injury, Mares still managed to rank up 15 goals in his two seasons for the Cardinals. He then transferred to Indiana University to play for the Indiana Hoosiers. He played in 22 matches in his lone season for the Hoosiers, scoring three goals.
