2018 Guam Elections
A general election was held in Guam on Tuesday, November 6, 2018. Voters in Guam chose their governor, non-voting delegate to the United States House of Representatives, attorney general, public auditor, and all fifteen members of the territorial legislature. The election coincided with the United States mid-term elections. Governor of Guam Incumbent Republican governor Eddie Baza Calvo was barred from re-election, after his win in 2014, since Guam does not allow governors more than two consecutive terms. Guam Gubernatorial Election, 2014
The 2014 Guam gubernatorial election took place on November 4, 2014, to elect the governor of Guam. Incumbent Republican governor Eddie Calvo, who was elected in 2010, sought re-election for a second four-year term. The Governor and Lieutenant Governor of Guam are elected on the same ticket. Tina Rose Muña Barnes (born August 24, 1962) is a Guamanian politician, currently serving as her 7th term as a senator in the Guam Legislature. She formerly served as the Speaker of the 35th Guam Legislature from 2019 to 2021. James Espaldon
James Virata Espaldon (born June 21, 1956), also known as Jim Espaldon, is an American politician and lawyer. A member of the Republican Party, Espaldon is a former candidate for Lieutenant Governor of Guam in the 2010 gubernatorial election as the running mate of Michael Cruz. He placed fourth in the 2014 Guam Elections for the Legislature of Guam. On May 31, 2018, Espaldon announced that he would not seek reelection in 2018. Benjamin Joseph Franquez Cruz (born March 3, 1951) is a Chamorro people, Chamorro lawyer, jurist, and politician who served as the Speaker of the 34th Guam Legislature from 2017 to 2018 and as Vice Speaker from 2009 to 2017. A member of the Democratic Party of Guam, Democratic Party, he previously served in the Guam Legislature from 2005 to 2007 and again from 2008 to 2018. Elizabeth Barrett-Anderson
Elizabeth Barrett-Anderson (born July 21, 1953) is a Guamanian lawyer, judge, and moderate Republican politician. She served as the sixth and thirteenth (fourth elected) Attorney General of Guam, a U.S. territory, from 1987 to 1994 and from 2015 to 2019. She is the longest-serving (11 years) attorney general in Guamanian history and was the first woman to serve as attorney general. Leevin Taitano Camacho is a Chamorro lawyer who served as fourteenth (fifth elected) attorney general of Guam. He was elected on November 6, 2018, defeating former attorney general Douglas Moylan with 67% of the vote. Inaugurated on January 7, 2019, Camacho succeeded Elizabeth Barrett-Anderson. Douglas Brian Keola Moylan (born October 19, 1966) is an American politician and lawyer serving as the 15th attorney general of Guam since 2023. A member of the Republican Party, he previously served as the ninth attorney general of Guam from 2003 to 2007.
