Gjorge Ivanov
Gjorge Ivanov (, ; born 2 May 1960) is a Macedonian academic and politician, who served as the President of (North) Macedonia from 2009 to 2019. Early life and education Ivanov was born in Valandovo on 2 May 1960. He finished primary and secondary school in his hometown. Ivanov graduated from the Law Faculty of the University of Skopje in 1982, received his master's degree in 1994 and his doctorate in 1998 with the thesis "Democracy in Divided Societies, with Special Review for the Republic of Macedonia". Zoran Zaev
Zoran Zaev (, ; born 8 October 1974) is a Macedonian economist and politician who served as prime minister of North Macedonia from May 2017 to January 2020, and again from August 2020 to January 2022. Prior to entering politics, he ran a private business in his hometown of Strumica. In the period 2003–2005, he was a Member of the Parliament of Macedonia, and then he ran for mayor of Strumica Municipality, a position he held for three terms, between 2005 and 2016. After the resignation of Branko Crvenkovski from the leadership of the centre-left Social Democratic Union of Macedonia in 2013, Zaev was appointed the new party leader. 2017 Macedonian Local Elections
Local elections were held on October 14–15 and 28–29, 2017, in the North Macedonia, Republic of Macedonia to elect mayors and members of Municipal council, municipality councils of the Municipalities of North Macedonia, 80 municipalities in Macedonia. These were the sixth local elections since the independence of Macedonia. The mandates of the current mayors and municipality councils ran out on May 22, and unlike those of government ministers, they are not automatically prolonged until new ones are elected. The delay in this respect prevented institutions under municipal authority, such as schools, kindergartens, public enterprises, fire-fighting units, to execute their duties. Talat Xhaferi (; born 15 April 1962) is a Macedonian politician who served as Prime Minister of North Macedonia from January to June 2024. He previously served as the President of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia from 2017 to 2024 and as Minister of Defense from 2013 to 2014. He was the first ethnic Albanian to have served as prime minister since the independence and statehood of North Macedonia. Slavko Brezoski (; 10 June 1922 – 7 March 2017) was a Macedonian architect, urban planner, painter, writer and educator known for his works in the genre of modern architecture realised during the middle of the 20th century in modern-day North Macedonia, Serbia, Croatia, Brazil and Libya. He was a professor and Dean at the Faculty of Architecture at the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University of Skopje.
