2015 USL Season
The 2015 USL season was the fifth season of the United Soccer League (USL) and the first under its new name (previously the league was called USL Pro). This season represented a substantial expansion from 14 teams in 2014 to 24 teams in 2015, and the division of the league into two conferences. It is also the 29th season of third-division soccer in the United States. Seven Major League Soccer clubs created reserve franchises in the USL for the 2015 season, following the lead of the LA Galaxy, who had done so in 2014: FC Montreal, New York Red Bulls II, Portland Timbers 2, Real Monarchs, Seattle Sounders FC 2, Toronto FC II, and Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2. In 2015, the Austin Aztex, Colorado Springs Switchbacks, Saint Louis FC and Tulsa Roughnecks joined the league as expansion sides. The USL Championship (USLC) is a men's professional association football, soccer league in the second tier of the United States soccer league system#Men's leagues, United States league system. It is organized by the United Soccer League (USL) as its premier league for men above USL League One. Carl Woszczynski
Carl Matthew Woszczynski (born April 18, 1988) is a retired American soccer player. Playing career Woszczynski attended Columbus North High School in Columbus, Indiana, where he was a four-year varsity starting goalkeeper. He recorded 42 career shutouts in 80 varsity starts. During his time there, he was a four-time All-Conference Indiana selection and three-time All State selection, as well as The Republic’s Area Player of the Year in 2006. Woszczynski played club soccer with the Fort Wayne Fever, where he was an Indiana State Cup Champion in 2007. He also was a seven-time member of the Indiana State ODP Team, a two-time captain of that team, and was selected to the Region II pool twice. College and amateur Woszczynski played college soccer for the University of Alabama at Birmingham from 2007 to 2011, where he was recognized as one of the best goalkeepers to come through Conference USA. Michael Dellorusso
Michael Dellorusso (born August 22, 1983, in White Plains, New York) is an American former professional soccer player. Career College Dellorusso grew up in Columbia, Maryland, attended Wilde Lake High School, and played college soccer at the University of Maryland, College Park from 2001 to 2005. He appeared in 93 games over four seasons, scoring 2 goals and assisting on 20. He was named team captain in his junior and senior seasons. During his college years he also played in the USL Premier Development League for Chesapeake Dragons. Professional Dellorusso was drafted in the fourth round, 42nd overall, of the 2006 MLS SuperDraft by FC Dallas. He spent part of his first season on loan with Minnesota Thunder of the USL First Division. Charlotte Independence is an American soccer team based in Charlotte, North Carolina, that plays in the USL League One, the third tier of the American soccer pyramid. Premier Development League
USL League Two (USL2), formerly the Premier Development League (PDL), is a semi-professional soccer league sponsored by United Soccer Leagues in the United States, forming part of the United States soccer league system. The league will feature 144 teams for the 2025 season, split into nineteen regional divisions across four conferences. USL League Two is headquartered in Tampa, Florida. The Seacoast United Phantoms are the current champions, having defeated Peoria City 3–2 in extra time to win the 2024 USL League Two Championship final on August 3, 2024. The Dayton Dutch Lions are an American soccer team based in Dayton, Ohio, United States. Founded in 2009, the team plays in USL League Two, the fourth tier of the American Soccer Pyramid. The Charlotte Eagles is an American amateur soccer team based in Charlotte, North Carolina, United States. FC Tulsa is an American professional soccer team based in Tulsa, Oklahoma which competes in the USL Championship, the second tier of the American soccer pyramid. History The club was founded as Tulsa Roughnecks FC by Jeff and Dale Hubbard, brothers and co-owners of the Tulsa Drillers minor league baseball franchise.
