Pierre Duchesne (born February 27, 1940) was the 28th Lieutenant Governor of Quebec and former secretary general of the National Assembly of Quebec. As lieutenant governor he was the viceregal representative of Queen Elizabeth II of Canada in the Province of Quebec. His appointment was made by Governor General of Canada Michaëlle Jean, on the Constitutional advice of Prime Minister of Canada Stephen Harper, and announced on May 18, 2007. Harry Frank Lewis, (born 1939) is a Canadian broadcaster and politician who served as the 28th lieutenant governor of Prince Edward Island, as viceregal representative of Queen Elizabeth II of Canada in the Province of Prince Edward Island. Violet Elizabeth Dowdeswell (née Patton; born November 9, 1944) is a Canadian public servant who currently serves as the lieutenant governor of Ontario, the 29th since Canadian Confederation. Early life Violet Elizabeth Patton was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, on November 9, 1944, and moved with her family to Canada in 1947, settling in rural Saskatchewan. Early life and education Born in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, Grant attended Mount Allison University, graduating in 1956 with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting and Economics.
