Les Chemins De Verre
''Les Chemins de verre'' is the fourth studio album by Québec indie rock group Karkwa. The album's title literally translates as "The Glass Pathways" or "The Glass Roads", although it is also a pun on the French language phrase ''chemins de fer'', or "railroads". The entire album was written and recorded over the span of 21 days. The album won the 2010 Polaris Music Prize, making Karkwa the first francophone band to win the award. The album subsequently also won the Juno Award for Francophone Album of the Year at the 2011 Juno Awards. The Beauties
The Beauties are a Canadian alternative country band from Toronto. Career They formed at the Dakota Tavern in 2006. The band members are Shawn Creamer, Derek Downham, Paul Pfisterer, Jud Ruhl and Darin McConnell. The Beauties have opened for Skydiggers, Broken Social Scene, Justin Rutledge and Jason Collett, and have backed up songwriters including Ron Sexsmith, Jim Cuddy and Serena Ryder. ''All In Good Time'' is the ninth studio album by Barenaked Ladies, released by Raisin' Records 23 March 2010 in Canada, and 30 March 2010 in the United States. It is the first album recorded following the departure of founding member Steven Page in February 2009, and the band's second album recorded as a four-piece (their 1996 album '' Born on a Pirate Ship'' was recorded between the departure of original keyboardist Andy Creeggan and the arrival of his replacement Kevin Hearn). Barenaked Ladies (BNL) is a Canadian Rock music, rock band which was formed in 1988 in the Toronto suburb of Scarborough, Ontario. The band developed a following in Canada, with their Barenaked Ladies (EP), self-titled 1991 cassette becoming the first independent release certified gold in Canada. Matthew Barber
Matthew Elliott Barber (born January 10, 1977) is a Canadian singer-songwriter. His music has been classified as indie pop and pop rock with folk music, folk and alternative country influences. Barber was born and grew up in Port Credit, Ontario, Port Credit, which is part of Mississauga, Ontario, just west of Toronto, attending Lorne Park Secondary School before moving to Kingston, Ontario to attend Queen's University at Kingston, Queen's University, where he volunteered at campus radio station CFRC-FM and performed at campus pubs. Baby Eagle (musician)
Steve Lambke is a Canadian singer-songwriter. He is a vocalist and guitarist for the indie rock band Constantines, and formerly released solo material under the name Baby Eagle. Biography Lambke grew up in Cambridge, Ontario where he played with fellow Constantine Dallas Wehrle in a band called Captain Co-Pilot in the late 1990s. He moved to Guelph in 1997 to attend school at the University of Guelph and earned a Bachelor of Science in physics. Lambke and Wehrle joined two former members of Shoulder in 1999 to form the Constantines. Lambke released his first solo album, ''Baby Eagle'', in 2006 on Outside Music. Apollo Ghosts is a Canadian indie rock Jangle-punk band formed in Nanaimo in 2009 and based in Vancouver, British Columbia. The original band was singer and guitarist Adrian Teacher, bassist Jason Oliver, and drummer Amanda Panda. Jarrett K (Jarrett Samson) later joined on Bass and Jason Oliver moved to second guitar. Annihilator is a Canadian thrash metal band founded in Ottawa in 1984 by Jeff Waters. Waters is the band's sole constant member and has acted as its guitarist, bandleader, writer, producer, engineer, and occasional bassist and vocalist. Annihilator has released seventeen studio albums and has undergone many line-up changes, with Waters regularly assembling touring or session musicians to perform with him.
