2010 SAP Open
The 2010 SAP Open was a men's tennis tournament played on indoor hard courts. It was the 122nd edition of the SAP Open, and was part of the ATP World Tour 250 series of the 2010 ATP World Tour. It took place at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California, United States, from February 8 through February 14, 2010. The singles draw featured ATP No. 7, 2010 Brisbane International champion Andy Roddick, and defending champion Radek Štěpánek. Other players included Fernando Verdasco, Tommy Haas, Mardy Fish, Sam Querrey, Tomáš Berdych and Philipp Kohlschreiber. Fernando Verdasco and former ATP World Tour champion Pete Sampras played an exhibition match on the first day of the event. Verdasco won by the score of 6–3, 7–6(2). ATP World Tour 250
The ATP 250 tournaments (previously known as the ''ATP World Tour 250'' tournaments, ''ATP International Series'', and ''ATP World Series'') are the lowest tier of annual men's tennis tournaments on the main ATP Tour, after the four Grand Slam (tennis), Grand Slam/major tournaments, ATP Finals, ATP Masters 1000 tournaments, ATP 1000 tournaments, and ATP 500 tournaments, ATP 500 tournaments. As of 2024 ATP Tour, 2024, the series included 38 tournaments, with 250 ranking points awarded to each singles champion—which accounts for the name of the series. Draws consist of 28, 32, or 48 for singles and 16 for doubles. In 2025 ATP Tour, 2025, the series includes only 30 tournaments after the retirement of three tournaments (Atlanta, Córdoba and Lyon), the downgrade of two (Estoril and Newport) and the upgrade of three tournaments to the 500 level (Dallas, Doha and Munich). Tomáš Berdych
Tomáš Berdych (; born 17 September 1985) is a Czech former professional tennis player. He was ranked world No. 4 in men's singles by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), achieved in May 2015. Berdych won 13 ATP Tour singles titles, including the 2005 Paris Masters. His most notable achievement was reaching the final of the 2010 Wimbledon Championships, achieved by consecutively upsetting top seed and six-time champion Roger Federer in the quarterfinals, and No. 3 Novak Djokovic in the semifinals. Berdych reached the semifinals of all four majors. Berdych was one of the few players who could consistently challenge the Big Four, and is one of three players (alongside Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Stan Wawrinka) to defeat all the Big Four in major events. Lucky Loser
A lucky loser is a sports competitor (player or team) who loses a match in a knockout tournament or loses in qualifying, but who then enters the main draw. This can occur when another competitor withdraws during the tournament because of illness, injury, or other reasons, in which case the lucky loser re-enters the competition in place of the withdrawn competitor, or due to the structure of the tournament. Timothy Allen Salazar Smyczek ( ; ; born December 30, 1987) is an American former professional tennis player. He made three quarterfinals on the main tour as well as the semi-finals of Newport in 2018. Additionally he won seven Challenger titles. He achieved a career-high singles ranking of World No. 68 in April 2015. Ryler DeHeart (born March 1, 1984) is an American former professional tennis player and current professional pickleball player. He reached his tennis singles career high ranking of 174 on May 3, 2010. He was coached by Brad Dancer. DeHeart resides in Champaign, Illinois. Aleksandr Aleksandrovich Bogomolov Jr. (; born April 23, 1983), nicknamed Bogie, is a Russian-American retired professional tennis player. Tennis career Born in Moscow, Russia, the 5' 10" Bogomolov's father, Alex Sr., was a Soviet tennis coach who worked with Larisa Neiland, Yevgeny Kafelnikov, and Andrei Medvedev. In 1998 he won the USTA National Boys' 16 Championships, defeating Andy Roddick in the final. After losing in the first round of his first Grand Slam appearance at Wimbledon, Bogomolov was beaten by David Nalbandian in the first round of the 2001 US Open. Ričardas Berankis (; born June 21, 1990) is a Lithuanian professional tennis player. He is the first and only Lithuanian to enter the Association of Tennis Professionals, ATP top 50 rankings, making him the highest ranked Lithuanian tennis player of all time. Ryan Harrison
Ryan Harrison (born May 7, 1992) is an American former professional tennis player. Harrison won one career Association of Tennis Professionals, ATP title in singles at the 2017 Memphis Open to go along with four in doubles, including the 2017 French Open. Before turning 16, Harrison was regarded as a prodigy after cracking the top 10 in the junior rankings and becoming one of the youngest players ever to win an ATP match. Devin Britton (born March 17, 1991) is an American professional tennis player. He is a native of Brandon, Mississippi. He is currently an assistant coach for the Ole Miss Rebels men's tennis team.
