Macau or Macao (; ; ; ), officially the Macao Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China (MSAR), is a city and special administrative region of China in the western Pearl River Delta by the South China Sea. The Macau Fisherman's Wharf (; pt, Doca dos Pescadores) is an integrated waterfront, hotel, convention, dining, retail and entertainment complex in Sé, Macau, China. 2006 Lusophony Games
The 1st Lusophone Games ( pt, 1.os Jogos da Lusofonia; ) were held in the Macau Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China between 7 and 15 October 2006. The 2006 Games were the first edition of this multi-sport event for Portuguese-speaking countries and territories, under the banner of ACOLOP. The site for the opening ceremony was the Macau Stadium and the closing ceremony was held at the Macau East Asian Games Dome. The mascot for the games was a dog named Leo. The pronunciation of "Leo" in Portuguese is similar to Chinese (''Lei O'') and it means "Come to Macau". The Tap Seac Multi-sports Pavilion (; pt, Pavilhão Polidesportivo Tap Seac) is an indoor sporting arena located in São Lázaro, Macau, China. The land on which the Tap Seac Multi-sport Pavilion sits at present belongs to the Ho-Tung Primary School. It acts as a substitute for the Tap Seac Football Ground which was formerly located diagonally across the road and was demolished to make way for the new Tap Seac Plaza and Pedestrian Zone. The pavilion covers a total area of more than 5,500 square metres and offers a seating capacity of over 4,000. Apart from the main playing area there is also a warm-up hall which provides facilities for basketball training.
