Biopic
A biographical film or biopic () is a film that dramatizes the life of an actual person or group of people. Such films show the life of a historical person and the central character's real name is used. They differ from docudrama films and historical drama films in that they attempt to comprehensively tell a single person's life story or at least the most historically important years of their lives. Context Biopic scholars include George F. Custen of the College of Staten Island and Dennis P. Bingham of Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis. Custen, in ''Bio/Pics: How Hollywood Constructed Public History'' (1992), regards the genre as having died with the Hollywood studio era, and in particular, Darryl F. Zanuck. Tadao Ando
is a self-taught Japanese autodidact architect known for his unique integration of architecture and landscape. Architectural historian Francesco Dal Co described his work as an example of " critical regionalism". Ando received the prestigious Pritzker Architecture Prize in 1995. Early life Tadao Ando was born in 1941 in Minato-ku, Osaka, Japan, just a few minutes before his twin brother. At the age of two, he was separated from his sibling and raised by his great-grandmother. Before becoming an architect, Ando worked as a boxer and fighter. He had no formal training in architecture, but a visit to Tokyo during high school, where he saw Frank Lloyd Wright–designed Imperial Hotel, deeply inspired him. Less than two years after graduating, he left boxing to pursue architecture, studying drawing at night and taking correspondence courses on interior design. Tullio Lombardo
Tullio Lombardo (c. 1455 – November 17, 1532), also known as Tullio Solari, was an Italian Renaissance sculptor. He was the brother of Antonio Lombardo and son of Pietro Lombardo. The Lombardo family worked together to sculpt famous Catholic churches and tombs. The church of Santi Giovanni e Paolo contains the Monument to Doge Pietro Mocenigo, executed with his father and brother, and the Monument to Doge Andrea Vendramin, an evocation of a Roman triumphal arch encrusted with decorative figures. His sculpture of Adam formed part of the monument, and is considered the first monumental classical nude since antiquity. Tullio also likely completed the funereal monument to Marco Cornaro in the Church of Santi Apostoli in Venice and the frieze in the Cornaro Chapel of the Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari. ''Adam'' is an Italian Renaissance sculpture of c.1490–1495, a marble statue by Tullio Lombardo, now in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, which bought it in 1936. It is of prime importance as the first lifesize nude marble sculpture since antiquity, though Donatello's famous bronze ''David'' had preceded it by several decades.
