''Good Night, Little Ones!'' () is a long-running Russian-language children's television program. Continuously broadcast since 1964 (premiered during the Soviet era), it airs on the Carousel channel. The program's presenters have included Valentina Leontieva (in the 1960s and 1970s), Angelina Vovk, Tatyana Sudets and Tatyana Vedeneyeva (in the 1980s), Amayak Akopyan (in the 1996 and 2001). Current presenters () include Anna Mikhalkova (Nikita Mikhalkov's daughter), Oxana Fedorova, Nikolai Valuev and Mikhail Porechenkov. Format The format has remained relatively constant over the decades. The presenter (a recognisable news reader, actor, or public figure) is joined on-set by one or two puppet characters. Cam Ranh Base
Cam Ranh Air Force Base is located on Cam Ranh Bay in Khánh Hòa province, Vietnam. It was one of several air bases built and used by the United States Air Force (USAF) during the Vietnam War. Cam Ranh Air Force Base was part of the large Cam Ranh Bay logistics facility built by the United States. It was the major military seaport used by the United States for the offloading of supplies, military equipment and as a major Naval base. Army, Navy, Marine Corps and Air Force units all had compounds and units assigned to the Cam Ranh Bay facility from its opening in 1965 until its closure in 1972 as part of the Vietnamization, drawdown of United States military forces in South Vietnam. Lourdes SIGINT Station
The Lourdes SIGINT (Signals Intelligence) facility, located near Havana, Cuba, was the largest facility of its kind operated by Soviet and later Russian foreign intelligence services outside of Russia. Located less than from Key West, the facility covered . Construction began in July 1962. The station purportedly closed in August 2002. All station facilities were shut down, the buildings were abandoned and later reconstructed to become the University of Information Science. At its peak during the Cold War over 1,500 KGB, GRU, Cuban DGI, and Eastern Bloc technicians, engineers and intelligence operatives staffed the facility. The base closed in 2002. Russia had paid Cuba a $200 million annual subsidy from 1962 to 2002. In July 2014 reports surfaced that Russia and Cuba had agreed to reopen the facility for usage by Russian intelligence. Siberia Airlines Flight 1812
Siberia Airlines Flight 1812 was a commercial flight shot down by the Ukrainian Air Force over the Black Sea on 4 October 2001, en route from Tel Aviv, Israel, to Novosibirsk, Russia. The aircraft, a Soviet-made Tupolev Tu-154, carried 66 passengers and 12 crew members. Most of the passengers were Israelis visiting relatives in Russia. There were no survivors. The crash site is about 190 km west-southwest of the Black Sea resort of Sochi, 140 km north of the Turkish coastal town of Fatsa and 350 km south-southeast of Feodosiya in Crimea. The crash was caused by a missile launched during joint Ukrainian-Russian military air-defence exercises at the Russian-controlled training ground of the 31st Russian Black Sea Fleet Research center on Cape Opuk near the city of Kerch in Crimea.
