Ling Jie (born October 22, 1982) is a retired Chinese artistic gymnast. She was the 1999 World Champion on the balance beam, the 2000 Chinese all-around national champion, and the silver medalist on the uneven bars at the 2000 Olympics in Sydney. Ling was also a member of the bronze medal-winning team at the 2000 Olympics, but the medal was stripped by the IOC in 2010 after one of the Chinese team members, Dong Fangxiao Dong Fangxiao () is a Chinese retired international gymnast who competed at the 2000 Summer Olympics. 1998 Goodwill Games
The 1998 Goodwill Games was the fourth edition of the international sports competition the Goodwill Games, which were created by Ted Turner in reaction to the political troubles surrounding the Olympic Games of the 1980s. The competition was held in and around New York City in the United States from July 19 to August 2, 1998. Approximately 1,500 athletes from more of 60 countries participated, competing in 15 sports.
