Mutiara Baswedan
Anies Rasyid Baswedan (, born 7 May 1969) is an Indonesian academic, activist, and politician who served as the Governor of Jakarta from 2017 to 2022. A student activist and political analyst before entering public service, he served as the Rector of Paramadina University before being appointed to be Minister of Education and Culture in Joko Widodo administration. He is also the founder of ''Indonesia Mengajar'', a program that selects, trains, and assigns university graduates to serve in a one-year teaching mission across the country. He is the grandson of nationalist, journalist, and freedom fighter Abdurrahman Baswedan, and the cousin of Novel Baswedan. He was a candidate for President of Indonesia in the 2024 election. Diananda Choirunisa
Diananda Choirunisa (born 16 March 1997) is an Indonesian recurve archer. She competed in the individual recurve event and the team recurve event at the 2015 World Archery Championships in Copenhagen, Denmark. Choirunisa still 20 years old when she started to become an Indonesian archery athlete in the 2017 SEA Games. Choirunisa also won gold medal in 2016 National Sports Week as a representative from East Java. In the 2017 SEA Games, Diananda managed to contribute two golds from the individual category and mixed recurve. Lorentz National Park
Lorentz National Park is an Indonesian national park located in the provinces of Central Papua, Highland Papua and South Papua, in the southwest of western New Guinea. With an area of 25,056 km2 (9,674 mi2), it is the largest national park in Southeast Asia. In 1999 Lorentz was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Musi River (Indonesia)
The Musi River () is a river in Southern Sumatra, Indonesia. It flows from south-west to north-east, from the Barisan Mountains range that form the backbone of Sumatra, in Kepahiang Regency, Bengkulu Province, to the Bangka Strait that forms an extension of the South China Sea. The Musi is about 750 kilometers long, and drains most of South Sumatra province. After flowing through Palembang, the provincial capital, it joins with several other rivers, including the Banyuasin River, to form a delta near the town of Sungsang. The river, dredged to a depth of about 8 meters, is navigable by large ships as far as Palembang, which is the site of major port facilities used primarily for the export of petroleum, rubber and palm oil. SilkAir Flight 185 was a scheduled international passenger flight operated by a Boeing 737-300 from Soekarno–Hatta International Airport in Jakarta, Indonesia to Changi Airport in Singapore that crashed into the Musi River near Palembang, Sumatra, on 19 December 1997, killing all 97 passengers and 7 crew members on board. The investigation into the cause of the crash was led by investigators from the National Transportation Safety Committee (NTSC), who were joined by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB). The NTSB, which participated in the investigation due to Boeing's manufacture of the aircraft in the US, investigated the crash under lead investigator Greg Feith. In its final report, the NTSC found "no concrete evidence" to support the pilot suicide allegation, with the previously suspected Parker-Hannifin hydraulic power control unit (PCU) having already been determined by the manufacturer to be defect-free. 1997 Southeast Asian Games
The 1997 Southeast Asian Games (), officially known as the 19th Southeast Asian Games (; the 19th SEA Games), were a Southeast Asian multi-sport event held in Jakarta, Indonesia. This was the third time that Indonesia hosted the games. Jakarta also hosted the SEA Games in 1979 and 1987. Around 4,696 athletes from 10 participating nations participated at the games, which featured 440 events in 34 sports. The games was held from 11 to 19 October 1997, although several events had commenced from 5 October 1997. The games was opened by Soeharto, the President of Indonesia at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium, which was then known at the time as Senayan Sports Stadium.
